I am a sucker for a good plot twist. This one was particularly satisfying. Honestly, I am disappointed that there’s only this title for this author.

I Can’t Make it Make Sense
Revisado: 01-21-25
I am enjoying this story for the most part. I just don’t understand why Cora is getting so upset by pictures of a doll. It seems like if her daughter was being mutilated… they’d send pictures of the daughter…. Idk seems like a plot hole or something because it’s too obvious to be a twist.

I’m Struggling
Revisado: 08-13-23
I have four hours left and I don’t know if I can do it. (Might have spoilers) I can’t believe we went over and over her relationship with Brock and she let it come to her having a police interview before she confesses. At the end of the day, as soon as the detective was on her doorstep, she should have known it was all a setup. She’s horribly naive and doesn’t move with common sense whatsoever.

Revisado: 05-23-23
Pleasure do not read unless you have read the whole thing. Or nearly the whole thing.
The last hour is excruciating. I don’t even know if I can finish it. It’s like, why are they being so dumb? Why are they risking everyone to save the one person? Why not get help instead? This is absolutely infuriating. I loved the book until now. I hope this doesn’t continue to go downhill, because I’m extremely disappointed in this turn of events. It’s the most ridiculous plan I’ve ever heard. I just, I wish they had been more rational. :( They should have hypothermia by now.

Historia
My life was perfect until she came along. Norah. Younger, prettier and about to marry my own ex-husband, they are a walking cliché. I hate her. I hate them both. She’s taken everything from me - my husband, my life, my home - but I refuse to allow her to take Cassie, my beautiful daughter. That's a step too far. Now I’ve discovered that Norah plans to have a baby of her own and that causes me no end of problems. She could destroy everything and reveal my deepest, darkest secrets. That can never be allowed to happen. No matter what it costs.

Loved it
Revisado: 04-22-23
This was the first book I’ve listened to by these two together. I’m a huge fan of the Clifford series, so I gave this a shot and I loved it. I think the layers and the twists were very well written and I went ahead and bought another one with the two of them just to see if it’s also as gripping as this one. Definitely give it a go. Well done ladies.

Everyone says Poppy jumped. My beautiful, creative sister, with her paint-splattered dresses and sunshine smile, took her own life. And I think they’re right. Until the day I get a call from a man with a very similar story. Everyone says his sister jumped too. But he has proof that she was pushed. And if she was, I have to ask myself: could the same thing have happened to Poppy?

Is it Just Me?
Revisado: 11-03-22
I’m enjoying this story. I hate to drop a star, but it’s driving me crazy that she keeps calling the police. I don’t think it’s a spoiler that the death of her sister is suspicious, so as we all know.. there are questions that need answers. Why won’t she show up to the police station? Why is she relying on someone to pass the information down the line. This is an important issue, her suspicions, so for me this is a weak plot device? It doesn’t ring true.
Other than that, it’s got me on… The Edge of my seat. Sorry, had to do it.

Revisado: 09-22-22
Guys and Gals,
I freaking love this series and I had a rude awakening when the voice I heard was NOT Lesley Manville. Okay? I went into full panic mode because I’ve been waiting for this book for so long. I waited. I preordered. I listened and I nearly crashed my car when this narrator started her whispering. I kept turning it off, rewinding, forgetting who was speaking and losing the plot because it’s so disturbing and distracting to have someone new.
However! I could still recognize that this was the writing I love, the characters I love and with the clever plotting… it’s the story I’ve been waiting so patiently to hear!
And guess what!
When you keep going… the narrator gets better! Honestly, I think it’s the power of this author’s imagination and skill that slowly starts to shine through. All of a sudden, I’m right there with her and her Joyce voice just gets better. The whole story starts sparking by like 5 hours in!
If you’re a true fan of the club, please keep going. It’s 100% worth it.

Sigh, I Like it… Buttt
Revisado: 08-19-21
Not sure if it’s a spoiler… so read at your own risk:
I like the story, honestly. I’m not even done and I know that I like it. The only thing that’s really annoying me is this love triangle that’s not even a triangle. Why on earth won’t Dean take Fiona’s word for it that she’s not involved with Dylan?!?! Even if Dylan has a crush… like come on?! How old are they again? Let Fiona decide for herself who she’s interested in. Why hold back on account of someone who is:
A. MIA
B. Allegedly lied.
B.1. Who probably lied just to get his brother off his back about setting him up with some random model?!
Other than THAT. It’s pretty interesting.
