Historia
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks.... But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth....

Human no, Elf comming of age story
Revisado: 08-21-21
Overall good story but protagonist strong fear of medical professionals and doctors is worrisome. This makes me concerned that it will make others fear to see doctors when needed if they have no experience themselves. Story makes current Medical Care sound medieval, and yes medieval care was scary, but this is current time. I understand medical stuff can be scary when you don't understand and getting shots and such campus painful the reaction seems overboard without more explanation. Maybe an explanation of fear of medical care just seems so much worse because the telepathy came out at the same time. The story sounded like she was in the hospital for way too long for her condition, granted my nursing experience doesn't include working on the neuro floor, but my experience is that she won't be in the hospital so long. A little more research in this area helpful to the author.

On the edge of the galaxy, a diplomatic mission to an alien planet takes a turn when the Legionnaires, an elite special fighting force, find themselves ambushed and stranded behind enemy lines. They struggle to survive under siege, waiting on a rescue that might never come. In the seedy starport of Ackabar, a young girl searches the crime-ridden gutters to avenge her father's murder; not far away, a double-dealing legionniare-turned-smuggler hunts an epic payday; and somewhere along the outer galaxy, a mysterious bounty hunter lies in wait.

mixed review
Revisado: 05-30-21
Took me quite a while to figure out but this is actually two books in one. Once I figured that out and it helped. Then you had the two bounty hunters. it took me until the last seven hours to realize these are two different bounty hunters, not the old man looking back on his life. Once I figured this out the story began to make more sense and I begin to enjoy it. May have been easier to figure out sooner if I was reading it versus listening that is true.

I kept wanting to finish work to go home and listen to more of the story. I like the morals of growth& forgiveness making you stronger and steadier. Fighting for justice not revenge.

Enjoyable story. Technically challenged.
Revisado: 04-29-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Stately Pursuits to be better than the print version?
I enjoyed the story and it was read well. My only issue was that it wasn't spliced together well and the narritive would jump from the middle of one sentance to the middle or beginning of another. Souding like it skipped, like a record would sometimes do.
What other book might you compare Stately Pursuits to and why?
I can't think of a particular book. Theme is a woman growing up, finding self and finding true love. So far the 2 books I have listened too from the Katie Fforde have same theme.
