Historia
In Dad is Fat, stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan, who’s best known for his legendary riffs on Hot Pockets, bacon, manatees, and McDonald's, expresses all the joys and horrors of life with five young children - everything from cousins ("celebrities for little kids") to toddlers’ communication skills ("they always sound like they have traveled by horseback for hours to deliver important news"), to the eating habits of four-year-olds ("there is no difference between a four-year-old eating a taco and throwing a taco on the floor").

mild profanitt
Revisado: 03-24-17
DARN! I would have loved this book if only I were able to share it. The people I would want to share with would not appreciate the profanity. Many people after listening to this book tape would say "what profanity ?" Certainly it is mild by today's standards but in my world of our five children listening at home as well as in their father's car - where he would likely listen and love the work overall, even that minimal use of profanity sends a message that profanity, in some measure, is okay. If it is seen as acceptable in any degree.. the use becomes a subject of debate. The questions will always be how much? when? where? or so it's okay for adults but not for kids? Drama central..
Overall - very entertaining and relate-able! Utah, family of eight..

Wharton’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel set in upper class New York City. Newland Archer, gentleman lawyer and heir to one of New York City's best families, is happily anticipating a highly desirable marriage to the sheltered and beautiful May Welland. Demonstrating "a selfish life does not= happiness"

Great Story Classic. Gives Jane Austin worthy competition!
Occasionally the distinction of voices is sorely missing.

I prefer a concrete "happy ending"
Revisado: 10-30-16
Very engaging & thought provoking. The end is left to each reader's disgretion, "Perhaps it was just an echo" doesn't do the otherwise engrossing - enchanted story justice. Still worth the read!

Wodehouse introduces us once again to the "wonder butler" Jeeves, who, as usual is able to solve any and all of Bertie Wooster's endless problems with ease and finesse. And he also introduces us to a character not dissimilar to Bertie . . . by name of Reggie. Such fun to follow Jeeves in the hijinks!

Not suitable for long-term driving Entertainment - it is doze- able. The brogue is sometimes very thick and leaves one to wait for understanding with further reading.

Darkness & Fear
Revisado: 12-29-15
Not unlike a long nightmare. Story is captivating, for sure... But the characters are forever running from dark danger. Their loyalty and love for each other is the only redeeming aspect of the entire read. . For me. It isn't enough. . I chose it as part of my goal to catch up on the classic lit. I have not, as yet, read. I see why it is is so popular, but I don't have any room in my brain-box for the the fear and darkness. Life is too short & brain-space is @ a premium for
