Why not just allow a rating ?
Revisado: 06-08-24
Why does Audible require a "review" when I just want to give a "star" rating.? At times I don't necessarily have any comments to offer.

Historia
We are in a small room with the vampire, face to face, as he speaks--as he pours out the hypnotic, shocking, moving, and erotically charged confessions of his first two hundred years as one of the living dead. . . He speaks quietly, plainly, even gently . . . carrying us back to the night when he departed human existence as heir--young, romantic, cultivated--to a great Louisiana plantation, and was inducted by the radiant and sinister Lestat into the other, the "endless," life....

too long (14+ hours)

boring and a basic plot stretched out
if you saw the 1994 movie it was better than the book
disappointing & almost unwatchable AMC series

Historia
Ralph Elllison's Invisible Man is a monumental novel, one that can well be called an epic of modern American Negro life. It is a strange story, in which many extraordinary things happen, some of them shocking and brutal, some of them pitiful and touching—yet always with elements of comedy and irony and burlesque that appear in unexpected places. It is a book that has a great deal to say and which is destined to have a great deal said about it.

Issues with volume
Revisado: 07-21-23
The narrator's voice constantly goes from a very low whisper to extremely loud yelling. Had to keep turning the volume up and down to comfortably listen to it. Tried both on laptop or with earbuds and still this problem persisted. It may be a technical thing or the narrator is not able to balance his voice in a way that will still keep the nuance of the dialogue without the annoying highs & lows.
I listened to it twice and thought the story was only somewhat involving. Expected more. I barely finished listening and glad when it was over.

Historia
Richard Dawkins, the world’s most famous evolutionary biologist, presents a gorgeously lucid, science book examining some of the nature’s most fundamental questions both from a mythical and scientific perspective. Science is our most precise and powerful tool for making sense of the world. Before we developed the scientific method, we created rich mythologies to explain the unknown. The pressing questions that primitive men and women asked are the same ones we ask as children. Who was the first person? What is the sun? Why is there night and day?

Easy to follow laid-out method of book. Both narratorss enjoyable to listen to. Why does Audible require a certain amount of words or characters to provide a review? Why not just let us rate with stars?

Glad it was a fairly short audiobook

under 2 hours, just ok, not very funny or interesting. Talented cast pretty much wasted, Rachel Dratch was the only one who made me laugh, Kevin Kline was ok. Disappointed for the most part.

In this collection are found stories of gay romantic love, the love between a father and his gay son, and old lovers returning from the beyond. There are stories within this book about a magical Christmas tree that appears of its own accord every year, angels, ghosts, and a century-old hotel that miraculously reappears during the holiday season. Most of the stories are written for gay listeners, but some are just cozy Christmas tales. There are stories in this volume for all true lovers of Christmas.

Horrible writing and narration
Revisado: 01-02-21
Wow, this is one of the worst audiobooks I've ever heard. Could not finish it. I feel the 3 to 4 hours I spent listening to it were wasted. I hate to not finish any book, but couldn't go any further. There's nothing interesting or worthwhile here. The stories are so bland and uninspiring.
Additionally, I don't know which was worse, the writing or the narration. The narrator was the wrong type for this book, but actually for any book that wants to keep your interest or help you connect to the stories. Very little inflection, just straight-forward reading of the text.
Bad book! Bad, bad, bad book.
