The perspective presented to the listener of the Battle of Midway is utterly engaging and interesting. The performance by Tom Perkins is superb. His style makes the book a pure joy to listen to and to ponder.

Having read the book in high school, this audio version was a perfect way of reacquainting myself to the artful storytelling of Mr. Monsarrat. The talent of story teller Simon Vance perfectly framed the various characters in this World War Two epic.
