Writing as always with keen insight into the human condition and God’s provision for it, Yancey debunks this theory once and for all. Yes, he agrees, the Old Testament can be baffling, boring, and even offensive to the modern listener. But as he personally discovered, the Old Testament is full of rewards for the one who embraces its riches.

I remember one telling another man one day that "I don't want to go to another men's group meeting and buy another Phillip Yancey book"! That was because I hadn't read this one.
I love summarizing statements and there are some in this book that are fantastic about Old Testament books I found this book to be deep and profound and it encourages me greatly to read the Old Testament more studiously highly recommend this book. I'm going to listen to it again right now.

Enjoyed hear the Justice's commentary of a few questions and his insight on the role of a Supreme Court Justice. Fun and more importantly, interesting. Will challenge your sense of fairness.

great story, perfectly read

I'll look for other books read by this narrator. Nailed reading this great story.
I struggled slightly with some of the loyalty of some characters and other characters indifference to flip flopping loyalty. I got a few big laughs, causing me to have to skip back thirty seconds to recover. I recommend the book, it's thought provoking in a simple way and entertaining, full of common sense andaction.

Way outside the box for me but I really enjoyed the change from fantasy / fiction to this biography. I really think Rob Lowe reading the book himself makes a real difference.
