Fantastic!
Revisado: 10-23-24
I do not read these types of books, when this one came up free, I gave it a try and I am so glad I did! what an amazing story, the narrator is THE best, she has an incredible talent and it was very clear which character she was narrating. probably the first narrator that had such an incredible range with character voices, very impressive.
This story was sad, funny, weird, etc. it covered all feelings and then some. I was so in to this that it felt like I was there watching this play out. the ending....I wasn't expecting that big of a jump...well, I won't say anything that would ruin it for someone else. I cried and didn't want it to end, but... I can see why. did. a beautiful story and I'm now a fan of this author

George Orwell's classic satire of the Russian Revolution is an intimate part of our contemporary culture, quoted so often that we tend to forget who wrote the original words! This must-read is also a must-listen!

Brought back memories
Revisado: 10-20-24
I had to read this in 8th or 9th grade in 1984 or 85. I always like this book and loved listening to it again as an adult. I wished they would make it into a movie 🍿. They did an animated movie back in the 50s (I think) and I do believe somebody tried it again later. With the CGI of today, it would make a good movie, IMO. The ending sucked today just like it sucked 40 years ago..

I'm impressed 😁 Pretty Gory
Revisado: 09-16-24
it didn't take me long to get into this book. I think it would make a great movie. The author gets into some pretty gory details. I love haunted, scary, and the occasional gore...this book didn't necessarily scare me by any means but it kept me interested. great book will definitely look for other books by this author. oh! almost forgot the narrator did a good job as well.

I used to take Ambien
- De Kathy Kickingwoman en 07-27-24
I used to take Ambien
Revisado: 07-27-24
I used to take Ambien...I was on it for a few years due to insomnia. it was perfect...for about the first 9 months then it stopped working for me..my doc prescribed me a higher dose. I want people to know that Ambien had just came out and was considered THE best as it was non addictive and had few side effects, which it was...at first. very long story short.....it is very important to know that if a person drinks ANY amount of alcohol they will definitely do stupid shit....I wasn't worried about that because I didn't drink. one night I took some NyQuil as I had a super bad cold. I only took the lowest dose which was roughly a half a cap full. About half an hour later I took my Ambien and tucked myself into bed....I woke up the next morning with almost 50 missed calls...I figured somebody in my family died and didn't want to deal with it just yet...coffee first. I went outside and there was my truck... parked on the front lawn with the drivers side door opened and keys hanging in the ignition. I thought somebody stole it and ....brought it back???? never did I think I was the one who drove it. I ran to check those messages and it was a very good friend of mine worried about me....they tried to stop me from driving, but somehow I managed to get away and drove off...they followed me home and made sure I got there and they drove off. it sounded like they did everything they could to stop me except trying to get me to stop as they feared I would of sped up and possibly killed someone...there is a reason they didn't call the police and I appreciate that they didn't...that is their story to tell, not mine. anyhow so I drove from post falls Idaho to Spokane Washington and I still to this day, over 20 year later, can not recall anything that went on that night. so that little half cap full of NyQuil....with such a minute amount of alcohol....is what triggered that sleep driving episode. needless to say I never took Ambien again, my doctor was very very upset and refused to prescribe me or any other patient of his Ambien. he even went after the pharmaceutical rep that really pushed the idea of a perfect sleep pill and he went after the makers of Ambien, but at that time nobody had reported any sleep walking or other dangerous side effects and my doctor was basically told to fuk off and his attorney said pretty much the same. I hope he is the one that had a hand in bringing Ambien and it's dangers, attention to the world years and years later. he was so embarrassed and upset over what happened to me...he was truly a doctor who cared. when I moved back home to Texas I no longer had him as my doctor as he was in Montana and this was decades before TeleMed. I hope he is doing well.
as for y'all's story....I am assuming that at the time that it happened they weren't releasing the name of the drug as it was still considered doctor patient confidentiality. Ambien is a bad drug...period and should of only been prescribed as a short term sleep pill to people who do not drink....at all or they do not take NyQuil are anything else that has even a trace of alcohol. I don't blame my doc at all....he didn't make the pill, he believed in it at first and he went over the side effects with me...he was told it was a safe, long term sleeping pill. He stopped prescribing it after what happened to me.
this dude is fkd in the head...he could be trying to come off as a crazy person planning to use the insanity plea and thank goodness that is an almost impossible to prove. This dude had just started incorporating nightly prayers with the kids prior to the murders. That, in itself, IMO is him having these murders planned out. Almost every person arrested and jailed will use the 'I found Jesus' while I was locked up....I've witnessed this way too many times. They do that in hopes the judge will let them out early or keep them from going to prison....side note: I am talking about people being locked up for long periods in county jails for drugs, theft, forgery, counterfeiting and not for murder, violent sex crimes etc. I didn't and don't know anyone who has committed murder or any other violent sex crimes and can not speak about any of them.
To me, this dude had already premeditated these murders and playing off that he is crazy/possessed by the devil. That is only my opinion....anyhow thanks for covering a case I knew nothing about....

I absolutely love this author. I have listened to 3 of her books and loved them and I am looking forward to the next book. I love the narrators voice and feel she nails every character perfectly...I chuckle at her southern drawl...as I am a born and raised Texan...she does an amazing job!
