Historia
Gus has big dreams. The gifted musician wants to follow in his father's and grandfather’s footsteps and become a Marine and join the Drum and Bugle Corps. But for a young man of limited means, that could prove difficult. A lifetime of adversity and self-doubt could easily dissuade Gus, a young man on the autism spectrum, from trying, but a unique opportunity soon presents itself and encourages him to move out of his comfort zone for the first time in his life.

Great Book-1 reservation
Revisado: 09-10-22
I really liked the idea for the story. Great character building and the author did well using unpopular, “broken”, normal, likable people! I like how the characters seemed to grow and were able to have good conversations. I was cheering them on.
However, I won’t be recommending this book to anyone I know personally due to the sex scenes. It was not just an inference-there were details shared that were not necessary to the beautiful story. I believe a “coming-of-age” story does not need the characters to have sex. Young people are able to grow and mature and know that sex is a huge decision that perhaps needs to be reserved for marriage. I realize this is my opinion.😉
Therefore, if this doesn’t bother you at all-read/listen to this book today.
The narrator does an excellent job with the characters! It took me a little while to get used to the way he voiced the character while describing his thoughts and actions. And the story kept me hooked. I did increase the speed just a touch for my comfort.

Exactly what I wanted
Revisado: 03-20-22
An easy to listen to audiobook. I enjoyed the story with my 2 teenagers during car trip, without worry of any raunch! That’s rare! They even wanted to finish the story with me after we got home.
There were no extreme surprises here really. I don’t mind. The description and title told me exactly the kind of story it would be.
The narrator did a wonderful job, sounded easy-going, and moved the story right along at a comfortable pace.
The Handsome Boarder is just right for light hearted entertainment.
I received a review copy and am leaving an honest review by my own choice.

I appreciate the fact that I can listen to this audiobook around my kids. No sex and cussing. Sweet, easy to listen to, likeable characters….
Narrator did a wonderful job with nice voices, yet not too dramatic.

This sounds like a old time radio show but without the advertisements. It is entertaining for sure. The narrator really brings the characters to life! Wonderful job.

Historia
Sometimes we forget that the Bible is actually one cohesive story. Instead, we use it as a manual for morality, view it as a string of disconnected stories, or consult it as a compilation of theological doctrines. But in Always Love, you’ll rediscover the Bible’s overarching narrative as themes are woven together revealing a seamless story from beginning to end. After following these themes through each major twist and turn, through difficult passages normally glossed over, through narrative, poetry, and ancient history, you won’t read the Bible the same way again!

Easy listening of God’s story
Revisado: 01-10-22
I admit that I am only 30-40% finished with the book. I have skipped around to different chapters. It has taken me some time to get used to hearing “the Author” instead of “The Lord”, but I understand it; I get it, God is the author of the story and our story. I know that I will listen to the rest of the book, but I will take my time.
I really like that it gives the scripture reference at the beginning of each chapter. Very important for me!
The narrator does a wonderful job speaking clearly and has a gentle voice. I do prefer to up the speed just a tad and I can still hear every word she says.
To finish, great book to have and listen to or read at your own pace!

Historia
The best men I've known have been cowmen. There's a code they live by - it's their way of life. It starts with an abiding reverence for the good Lord. They're taught to honor and respect their parents and to share both blanket and bread. Their words are their bond, a handshake their contract. They're good stewards of his creation, the land. They believe the words in his book.

A Highly Fulfilling Listen!
Revisado: 01-10-22
I’m from Louisiana so it was delightful to hear some familiar locations discussed. I was intrigued with this story from another time period. Great details! Author did a great job with the layout of everything. Narrator made it easy on the ears and compelled me to listen closely to not miss anything. Very enjoyable indeed!
