The best of the series so far
Revisado: 12-03-22
Really enjoyed this chapter in the story of Felix. For once, the struggles have been less than in previous books, which is great to see and read.
There is tremendous growth with all the characters and of course, Travis Baldree does an awesome job as usual.

Historia
The Galactic Consensus arrived on ships as large as skyscrapers, crafted from glittering alloys that no human scientist could even begin to understand. They followed the trail of century-old television transmissions to welcome us into the galactic community...only to recoil in horror at what they found. They concluded that humans were unfit to be trusted with the advanced technologies that member-states of the Consensus freely traded with each other.

Hits all the points
Revisado: 07-06-22
As the title says, this story hits all the right notes for me.
We get an intelligent heroine, a plausible situational system (for LitRPG anyways), a story that flows without much guidance from the author and an overall romp of a story.
The only thing that is bad on it is that I'll have to wait to see where the story will go from here until book 2 comes out.

Historia
Carl and his bottom-scraper minions were a success story from any perspective. Against all odds, they managed to defeat all of Carl's dragon siblings and kill the filthy Soul Carver. Now, all that is left for him to do is take up the comfy place as the rightful ruler of the Scoured Mountain. With that out of the way, Selys the dragon matriarch can retire and go do whatever she feels like. Small issue: "Whatever Selys feels like" turns out to be world domination.

Revisado: 06-16-22
Great story, great narration.
I don't know if it's the end of Onyx' story, but I sure hope not. These first 3 books have been increasingly entertaining, with so much goodness through them all.
I hope we get to see a follow up arc.

Historia
A lord according to the system, Grant Monday has arrived in February. This place is the absolute opposite of January, and his largest challenge isn’t hostile Wielders. Instead, the new lord needs to face culture shock, contending with strange foods, stringent training, and a stomach-churning subrace of humans known as "Joggers". Grant chose the wrong time to try to take on the world: Every single citizen of February is a powerful body cultivator, and this year there has been a huge shift in the power dynamics of the District.

I bet you can't write a progression story where everything is based off of the calendar months.

Historia
Marcus Bola and the Wild Hunt saved Egypt from itself and stopped a threat that no one had seen coming, just in time to be thrust into a deity-ordered lockdown. So, when the chance came to go on vacation? They were in their cosplay and letting loose in the Land of the Rising Sun before anyone could change their mind. Old friends pop in to say hello, just as all hell breaks loose. Someone’s shedding light on things they shouldn't, and the clock is ticking.

Great story, awesome narration.
We continue to have realty good character development, combined with the expansion of the wider world where Chris John's stories take place.

Historia
Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with change is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

Nice take on the dungeon genre
Revisado: 04-09-22
I really enjoyed how we were given what is basically a dungeon story, in the form of a regular adventure one.
The non-human MC is just a bonus.
Narration was really good as well.
I hear that books 2 and 3 are already completed.

Douglas crash lands on the planet Evengi Prime and proceeds to do what he does best: Repetitive chaos. He tries to set a plastic table on fire and makes a few pretty pink mushroom clouds, but luckily the planet is long dead and its current inhabitants are incapable of lodging complaints. He then finds a new friend in a familiar body, who helps him make sense of the strange world while getting used as a test dummy for new spells.

Enjoyed it more than the first one
Revisado: 02-07-20
I described the first book in this series as someone living their whole lives inside a box trying to explain what outside of the box looked like.
I'm happy to say that this is not the case with book #2. Maybe all the exposition is out of the way, or maybe it's because I heard it vs. reading it, but I thought it was way more enjoyable.

Great story. Mistery and character development are things that Sanderson is able to deliver consistently in his writing and he honestly doesn't disappoint this time around.

It is a war that turns cities to ash, that leaves the very land itself ravaged and uninhabitable.... The scions fought valiantly, but even with their powers they were no match for the demonic horde. With the realm in ruin and no one to oppose them, Valion’s dark forces set their sights on a new world...Earth.

Is it really gamelit?
Revisado: 02-04-20
The book sets itself out to be in the gamelit genre, and unfortunately, there seems to be only lip-service paid to it.
As far as the story itself, it's a good one but the narration suffers a bit from there being too many characters and not enough voices.

Good but forgettable story
Revisado: 02-04-20
There wasnt anything in particular with the book that stood out as bad to me. It was a perfectly fine story that unfortunately didn't feel like it knew where it's focus should be.
There are parts of it that I couldn't really tell you what happened. The most interesting parts were glossed over (his settlement and land owning) to focus on other crisis that really have nothing to do with the premise of the book.
Will I listen the next one? Probably, but mostly to see if the focus returns to the parts I enjoyed.
