Don’t quit half way through
Revisado: 09-25-23
Some people might find it a little slow halfway in, but I promise the payoff is worth it. Overall it’s one of the most satisfying reads I’ve had in awhile and I can’t wait for book 3.

Historia
Kai has been doing well in achieving his goal of taking over the entire Avlaim region. Step by step, he has been advancing on this difficult road, but even this is only the beginning. Now he has to work on bettering not only himself, but his entire organization as this is the only way to obtain enough resources and power to find and save his friends. But change is not an easy thing, and few people like it. With his actions, Kai disrupted centuries of stability and drew too much attention to the Avlaim region.

I forgot how great these books were
Revisado: 05-02-23
For a lot of the book I was afraid we weren't going to get much in the way of Kai's story development but towards the end I was surprised at all the twists and turns the story took, even getting to be reintroduced to an old character we thought may come back but wasn't sure in what way. Overall with how the story ended, I'm very excited about the next book and will likely read it before it comes to audible.

Best Title in the Series
Revisado: 06-07-22
Answers some questions, ties up some arcs, and keeps the door open to even more adventures from the cast of characters.
Kirby Heyborne is as great as the previous books. Can't really match the emotion he puts into the VA, really brings everything to life.

Decent Addition
Revisado: 10-24-21
Like others, I was a little disappointed in the lack of plot movement until the last hour and a half or so. But overall it is a good addition to the Delvers series. I do kind of worry about the imbalance between the two main characters though. I had a feeling in the first book that the story would heavily skew towards Henry, and it seems I was right in some ways. I'm assuming there's still a lot of time to let Jason's part of the circle shine, but so far he's drawn the short straw more times than not. I was also a little confused about the whole Nora Hazard character coming into the story like we were supposed to know who she was. But I now know there's a whole trilogy on her so it makes sense. I didn't really find her character interesting enough to want to read them, but I find it cool BC is expanding the world a bit. Other than those things, it was a fun book and I'll be looking forward to the next one.

Not quite what I expected
Revisado: 09-17-21
I'll start off with reiterating what most people have said about books 1 and 2 being great. Third book was alright enough. But everything seems so forced with this one. I could list a few things but what got me was the pairing towards the end of the book. I don't really understand why you'd spend so much time in the earlier books building something up and giving it the potential to play an interesting part in the main characters development down the road, just to void it out of nowhere without any set up or believable reasons. I actually stopped paying attention around that point. Too much page time in books 1 and 2 were spent forcing that down our throats to get us invested and then nothing comes out of it.
If you're going to read this because you like the plot and res, and don't particularly care for any of the side characters, I'd say the book is worth the listen if you've made it this far. But if any of the subplots or character development were a big reason for liking the series thus far, I can't really recommend.
