I think my review just vanished, either that or I'm on the wrong account again. lol

It really wasn't a surprise to be enthralled by this book. Though I admit the narrator was a bit new to me, and took a little to get used to, her tone and pacing was good, and I liked the characters she'd visioned for the world.

Having read some of this, I greatly admired the work CT and Michael put into their worlds, The introduction let me know there was a history to Kei and it really shows in the presentation of her and her personality. It's solid.

With CT I always expect a little humor, and with rich details and laugh out loud moments, you really can't go wrong with this book at all. It was a bit of great fun and I enjoyed it a lot.

The fact Kei is a rider as well, just made this book and her more real to me too. I miss my bike, and it was just fun to be her for a while.

Thank you for the entertainment and I look forward to book 2 when it's out!

"Exciting and Unique"
There are many audiobooks I've listened to over the past couple of years that have stuck with me, but not many out of the usual genres I turn too.

Agent G is one of them. Jeffery Kafer is one of my go-to narrartors for awesome work, and so now is C.T Phipps. From his Supervillany series to this, there's just so much world bu8lding in this authors head, it's great to follow him and see where he ends up next.

Agent G as a character is one of those who you start off not quite sure about, get to know, to learn everything he's been through and then you're hooked.

Jeffery Kafer was the best choice for this book and the characters popped. Marissa to G, they were brilliant. Humour from both, and in the inflection from Kafer took the story and really brought it to life.

I don't get a lot of time for reading, but anything Phipps writes now, I have to say I've Jeffery's voice in my head when I do.

Excellent job, and I am really excited for more.

(do not know why this review never went through it was posted a couple of weeks after I bought the book) anyway it made me look for more from Jeffery and I am excited now lol :)

When's he voicing Jane? haha

I saw this one crop up on my lists so many times, Jeffery Kafer is one of the best narrators out there, and he usually nails it, but this kind of genre I wasn't so sure on. So I never bothered. Until most recently, where I discovered CT Phipps works and had one of my other friends almost order me to buy these, and I've very glad I did.

What I really loved about this book was not just the narration, man Jeffery do you blow this one out the water. Gary's voice, his sense of weird humour and fun was just performed down to a T. I can't stress how much you made me laugh out loud. I must have seemed like a crazy person.

This whole plot was just a gas from start to finish, one of the funniest books I've ever listened to, and although I don't really think of myself as a superhero or comic book fan, this just won me over to the dark side.

Gary was such a great and dorkable idiot. He really, really wants to be a supervillain. And yet, everyone else thinks's he's not cut out for it, he seems to be doing more good than bad. Haha, Red is great, I love her character, spunky and also just on the verge of being so dopey it's awesome.

The story itself has some fantastic action, great twists to how things turn out, and the ending just leaves you wanting so much more.

For anyone who wants something fun, entertaining and with some great character depth. This book is it! Highly recommended.

On to the next one!

I was excited to pick this audiobook up and listen to it this last week, and it didn't disappoint. After the Cthulhu series, I have to admit, that this was a much darker tale.

Cassius Mass is in hiding from the world he turned against, and almost hated himself for his own actions within it. I found the characters around him and his situations, sometimes horrid and sometimes on the funny side.

What interested me the most in this novel, I think was the politics and the depth to the story. I'm honestly not one for being that involved in things like that, I barely understand my own country so I have to admit that at times some of it was lost on me. This isn't any bearing on the authors, there's just a lot to dijest.

One of my favourite characters has to be Ida, and the narrator did a great job of performing the different voices of the ladies :) with the Captain of the ship being the easiest and oldest to portray. The Chel being so very different, and wonderful on the ears, great job from Eric in making this story come to life.

The writing itself makes you think constantly. Each of the ships characters came together because of the lives they led, the people they were escaping from and the deeds they'd done.

I loved that they were so diverse and so sneaky. Everything you think you know about someone is then turned on its head. There's so much going on, so much that we don't know, that we couldn't.

This was an awesome listen. I'd recommend it to any hard SciFi fan. Those who love political intrigue and action. This has it all and you'll not be left wanting more. :) I totally look forward to the next one, as I do think there's more to this story!

Hurry up guys!

I was glad that I had this one to listen to after the first ended. Of course, it's a stand alone book and felt very organic. But I wanted more from this world. Glad CT Phipps delivered with this, I also believe there's a third coming sometime soon. :)

I am not very up with Cthulhu and their myths and legends, of course, this just made me want to dig into this very weird and terrifying world.

The Tower of Zhaal kicks off with just as much action as the first. Where Booth and Mercury are kidnapped and taken to save the world. A Very weird way of asking, but I can also see why the society might need to do it this way.

What I really enjoyed about this, was that even though we thought Booth and Mercury couldn't get more involved, the character development around these two was still exemplary. So deep and emotional that I felt for their relationship as odd as it was, and as loving as it seemed.

I still think every woman Booth comes across is one he's been in love with at some point, and the re-introduction of his wife made this much more interesting. So many things to go wrong, so much to lose.

This book will defo have you on the edge of your seat, high action, high horror. Booth changes a lot, not just physically as he embraces the person he really is, or the alien that he is, but also on a mental level. And I really liked this about him. There was a great strength in him and it showed in his decision and of course, some non-decision as life just seemed to roll on around him.

I admit getting to know these characters made a better impact on me storywise, it flowed on from the first, kept me hanging and engage, and emotionally invested. The monsters were terrifying, the world so detailed I thought I was there...

When's the next one out! I'm having a book hangover... Although I am starting on the super villainy books, it won't be the same. : (

Great, great job. Thank you for the entertainment guys!

I have to admit, that following Jeffery Kafer around brought me to this book. I kept looking at it, reading the synopsis and then not picking it up, but I did still keep on coming back to it. A friend kept pushing me to give it a go, and I'm glad that I did. I'm not very familiar with Cthulhu as a story, but because it seemed to be myth/law, I did a little digging and found many references to it. Nice job on creating this amazing world around something so diverse in its creation.

C.T. Phipps has an extraordinary imagination, both for the setting and the characters. It starts off really quick and the action just doesn't let up. The humour, both dark, and gripping kept me listening even with the horrible creatures and destruction of our world.

Booth's mission with his team turns bad and he loses them all or so he thinks, he's not only any clue how he eventually escapes but he's left with a strange handprint on his shoulder. As things unfold Booth's adventure grows in intensity, he's to take the blame for his team's death, resulting in a public execution, that the 'torturer' Mercury fakes because she wants him as a guide in the wastelands. It seems her life is on a short leash as well. So booth agrees to help her reluctantly.

The friendships that develop and the journey that Booth sets out on is fraught with monsters, danger, and death.

The monsters are horrible. I didn't think that anything he could continue to see and witness would scare him more than the previous encounter, and in one sense, I think that being terrified all the time did get a little repetitive. I believe that more you're exposed to these kinds of things the more that you get accustomed to them, or at least a little immune, the horrors of war and life in the wastelands would be more and more like normal life, but the fact was that Booth seemed to just keep on finding things so horrible and sickening that it kind of detracted it for me.

The narration was, of course, pretty spot on, there were great characterisations from Jeffery especially with Booth, I enjoyed the performance and the ladies, even if they all did seem to fawn over the MC. The only one who gave as much as she was dealt with, without an emotional attachment was Jackie, and she was a kid, everyone else seemed to 'want' to be with or had been with Booth, and that got a little old, more so thinking that he actually might want to be with the woman who tortured people.... Booth seemed to just do the opposite of what I thought he might when there was a pretty body near him.

Overall I was impressed both with the story and the narration, so I picked up book 2 and am almost finished with it :) Thank you for the entertainment, really enjoyed the journey and the ending was really exciting! solid 4.5 stars from me all round.

I picked this up last week, needing a break from some of the LitRPG I've been listening too and this sounded pretty interesting.

I always like following Jeffery around, usually not too disappointed. But, I have to say this one was a little bit of a letdown. Only in story mind you, not his narration, can't ever fault the effort he puts in.

I think what bothered me was the length of this as much as the fact there was a great deal of information, backstory and other things that lead towards the sort of climax of the story and then into the possibility of a next book. I think there were lots of places that story was almost skimmed over, where I'd have liked to get to know some of the smaller details, the conversations and the actions that this huge world and writer could have explored.

Maybe walking us through some more about the tech advancements would have also helped. I love science in my story but also want to feel it fits right, I defo wanted more here too.

I did really think the characters were developed enough, I felt for them in all their situations, and even for the aliens that were visiting and fighting to help Earth. As for who is what and on whose side, I'm still not 100% sure. There's so much to ask and to hope we get some answers for. I'm very interested in the next book, so I'll look for it now, or keep my eye on Jeffery.

I do also think length wise this is a lot of set up for the rest of the series, and that this is a long-standing story that might well span a lot of books. So I might forgive this a little more.

Thanks for bringing me new writers and to the writer for the new worlds. :)

What I really like about this and as a second book is that it's so so real. It may be fiction, but the true facts behind this are scarily real... and it puts you in the heart of a worst case scenario with devastating consequences.

Bobby Akart brings us characters here that survived the first couple of days, reunited with his family and now is trying to do right by them and the community around them.

When the world collapses and people become desperate, these events would be more likely to happen in your street. The characters here, really make you want to help them, to route for them and of course for their survival.

It is again a shorter piece, but the story moves so fast I think it was gone in a blink of an eye and I so wanted more, to see where the Rymans end up, do they even make it out the street So much is going on around them, so many scared and terrified and dying people.

What I really like about this series and the narrator who does a very excellent job of the story is that as I'm from the UK and essentially not a 'prepper' I have picked up several tips and things that I would need, that would be likely just as important over here as in the US.

All in all an excellent second book and I'm going on to pick up the next as I thought I saw it floating out there.... :)
