Good Info But Gaps In Action
Revisado: 07-21-19
Another very good book, and a required read. My only qualm is that he spends a lot of time describing differences and requirements for S and B businesses, but doesn't go into detail about steps to move. For example, what skills do you need to learn to be a successful B? It touches that "you need to learn the skills", but what are they? Another example is that to start a B enterprise, you start it, hire staff, implement a system, and franchise. Sounds great, but if you are an S business, how would you convert, and moreover, how can you start a small B without succumbing to S motivations? You can't be global without being established. It really does do a good job of identifying and categorizing mindsets for the different investors, and really emphasizes on learning to read financial forms as opposed to taking a word from say a real estate agent. Ask for the numbers to back up any claims and verify them yourself. Overall, need to review the book again and take better notes, but read Rich Dad, Poor Dad first. A lot of the concepts make more sense that way, but this is well worth the buy.

Worth Every Penny
Revisado: 07-21-19
It gets repetitive at times, but it's to circle back to important points. It makes you question everything you had learned growing up about money, thinking, assets, and purchases. There was a period there where the more you listen and learn, the more depressed you get when you reflect. That sets the fire to make a change. This was the first book that gives you the kick you need to make that change. It stresses continuous learning and implementing change NOW. It has changed my mindset for the better. I can now spot decisions and purchases based on emotion and now question every one of them. Does it have the ability to become an asset? Will it supplement a system to make me more efficient, thus paying for itself? Also touches on real estate and really drives home the point of making money work for you and learning WHEN you fail, not IF. It's a voice that you can hear in your head that tells you it's okay to not win the first time, and don't be frightened by logical risk. I'm going on about 4 months since completing this book for the 2nd time, and have already made several life changes that are noticeably paying off. The entire hardest part of the entire thing was losing the security fallback mentality or resistance to change. The biggest and most important thing is just make a change, play with your styles, learn when you fail, and rationalize purchases.

Good Story, But Unfulfilling
Revisado: 03-28-19
This title is a small roller-coaster. I had a hard time connecting with almost every character. The mother made me angry, there were very few heart to hearts, and the entire story wrapped up with plenty of unresolved conflict. There are too many unanswered questions, and I have yet to figure out how crazy Davy actually is. Not my favorite book, but the performance is spectacular.

What if you went to a school where it was actually all right to be who you really are? That's the enchanting place David Levithan has created in his highly acclaimed first novel. But even if the gay kids and the straight kids all get along just fine, even if it's all right for the quarterback to be a cross dresser named Infinite Darlene and the cheerleaders to ride Harleys into the pep rally, the road to true love is still a strange and winding path, as Paul discovers when he meets the boy of his dreams.

Good Listen

I like the full cast. Very relatable, and can relate empathetically. Only thing I didn't like is that it started off slow and boring and there are still questions unanswered at the end.

Great book with some interesting facts.

It's slightly offensive with all of the fire fighter jokes, but I think it's all in good fun. This is a must listen.

Historia
Paul, a religious teen living in a small conservative town, finds his world turned upside down when he meets Manuel - a young man who says he’s both Christian and gay, two things that Paul didn’t think could coexist in one person. Doesn’t the Bible forbid homosexuality? As Paul struggles with Manuel’s interpretation of the Bible, thoughts that Paul has long tried to bury begin to surface, and he finds himself re-examining his whole life. This is an unforgettable book on an extremely timely topic that strives to open minds on both ends of the spectrum.

Enjoyed, But Not One Of Alex's Best
Revisado: 10-30-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The God Box to be better than the print version?
Yes
Would you be willing to try another book from Alex Sanchez? Why or why not?
YEs, he is my overall favorite author. I have read all of his books.
Have you listened to any of Joey Florez’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not sure.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The section where Paul was coming out, and there was very limited drama. It's the ideal situation.
Any additional comments?
I really couldn't dive into this book, and I really wanted to. I couldn't relate to alot of characters or place their journey like Alex's other books. The story itself was great, but I couldn't get into having Paul and Manuel's pairing. I guess I expected it to be more like they became great friends and then Paul met another person to be his love, equally for Manuel.
