it was really an up hill climb through the first several chapters but I found once I could listen for longer spells it began to pick up. No prior knowledge of Voodoo made this a bit confusing as well and it is implied you understand. I will definitely try another of her books! As a bonus, I have figured out a great costume for Halloween

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Seems like he wants to be John Grisham but misses by a MILE! Book is choppy and doesn't really go anywhere. Main character is annoying as all get out - not sure why I even finished it, guess I hoped it would turn the corner.
Would you ever listen to anything by William Landay again?

Seems like Myla may be trying to be all things to all people? The story lines and timeframe changes interlaced with voices of the dead is hard to follow and then just annoying. Wonder how it translates in print...by the end she really hasn't said much which is a shame because it starts with some promise and clearly the author has done research. Too bad...was just glad to be done with it!
