Another Sweet Tale by Trish Perry
Revisado: 10-11-22
I've read and listened to other stories by this author and always enjoyed each one. This tale was no different. The heroine finds herself in a quandary not once but twice. With her name on the line, she's determined to do things right. With a handsome guy cheering her on, it's a win-win situation. Right? That is until a phone call throws a wrench into things. I recommend this story for a quick listen.
The narrator did a good job with most of the voices and the narration, but I found the heroine and her sister's voices a bit too whiney.

Historia
Elena Tafani is in control of almost every aspect of her life - but getting arrested is only the first in a number of experiences that throw her summer completely off kilter. She may know how to stage a home to show it at its best, but her life isn’t showing quite as well. There’s her runaway niece, her hard-bitten sister, her over-indulgent parents, and her judgmental clients. Then, there’s Chaz, the best friend for whom she’s developing very confusing feelings.

Great Lesson for Being Non-judgmental
Revisado: 01-20-22
Oh, we humans have a tendency to look down our noses when other humans stumble and fall. This story is a great lesson in looking beyond faults and circumstances and being non-judgmental. If Chrst can forgive, so can we. Trish Perry did an amazing job of showing this in Together by Design. The characters were relatable, and although they were flawed, they grew through the story as the reader wants them to. I highly recommend this story.

England, 1914. Joanna Blalock's keen mind and incredible insight lead her to become a highly skilled nurse, one of the few professions that allow her to use her finely tuned brain. Sherlock Holmes the Next Generation
Revisado: 06-24-20
This book was greatly reminiscent of the original Sherlock Holmes stories, only this one features the famous sleuth's daughter, Mrs. Joanna Blalock. Sherlock Holmes has since passed on. The famous Dr. Watson and his pathologist son, Dr. John Watson have set off to discover "who done it" a case and have run into the Mrs. Together the trio are soon busy on a murder mystery. Joanna exhibits the usual deduction that Sherlock himself would have been proud of plus a growing attraction between her and John keeps things a touch romantic. Al clean read to be sure. I highly recommend this book.

Loved the book and story was easy to listen to. Finished it in 2 days while driving cross-country. I would suggest reading or listening to "Raise the Titanic" for a more complete experience. it would tie together some of the story lines, but isn't really necessary.

Didn't See That One Coming
Revisado: 06-03-19
This was my first experience with Barker & Llewellyn. I found it to be quite intriguing. For Sherlock Holmes fans this is another avenue worth exploring. I enjoyed this audio book, and it kept my interest straight through to the end. The narrator did an excellent job with a variety of characters and their changes of voice. I'm looking forward to the next audio book.

Historia
Georgie, or Lady Georgiana Rannoch, is busy planning her upcoming nuptials to Darcy O'Mara. Unfortunately, what has started as a simple wedding has become quite a royal headache and grand affair, thanks to a guest list that includes the queen and the appointment of princesses as Georgie's bridesmaids. “If only Darcy and I had eloped!” she thinks, as she attempts to organize her wedding and find a place for her and her husband-to-be to live. Just as she despairs of ever finding a home, her godfather offers his fully staffed country estate. But something sinister is afoot....

Never Disappointed
Revisado: 08-25-18
We'll miss Katherine Kellgren. She was a talented narrator and a wonderful Georgie Rannoch. But I applaude Jasmine Blackborow for her talented performance in Four Funerals and Maybe a Wedding. She's every bit as talented as Katherine. Yes, there was some variation in a few characters but she's a different person. It's to be expected. I thought she did a wonderful job and Rhys Bowen never disappoints. I hope this series will continue & not stop just because Georgie got married. I wait in anticipation for the next book.

Historia
At the height of World War II, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was home to 75,000 residents, consuming more electricity than New York City. But to most of the world, the town did not exist. Thousands of civilians - many of them young women from small towns across the South - were recruited to this secret city, enticed by solid wages and the promise of war-ending work. Kept very much in the dark, few would ever guess the true nature of the tasks they performed each day in the hulking factories in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains.

Revisado: 10-05-17
This was a very good account of the birth of the atomic age from the personal perspectives of the women who were there. Sounds like a boring topic, but this author makes it anything but. By the the end of the book, the reader knows how each of the women helped to win the war. I highly recommend it.

Revisado: 09-05-17
As a long fan of Rhys Bowen's Lady Georgie Ranoch, this was a new direction for me. However, I found it to be just as intriguing and interesting and full of great characters. Rhys Bowen never fails to entertain and mystify. I highly recommend.

Isaac Bell Does It Again!
Revisado: 04-06-17
Another great adventure by a talented storyteller. As usual, I enjoy Clive Cussler's stories, but Isacc Bell is my favorite. The Jim Kirk of the early 1900's, you know he'll always get his man (or woman). The adventure is HOW he gets them!
