Historia
Leo can’t remember what happened the night of the accident. All she knows is that she left the party with her older sister, Nina, and Nina’s boyfriend, East. And now Nina is dead, killed by a drunk driver and leaving Leo with a hole inside her that’s impossible to fill. East, who loved Nina almost as much as Leo did, is the person who seems to most understand how she feels, and the two form a friendship based on their shared grief. But as she struggles to remember what happened, Leo discovers that East remembers every detail of the accident—and he won’t tell her anything about it.

Powerful story about grief and recovery
Revisado: 11-05-22
The audiobook narrator skillfully brings the characters to life in this exploration of grief and recovery from a traumatic loss. Beautifully written, the authenticity of emotion rings through every line, yet the author masterfully balances intense scenes with lighter moments in echo of the way grief is experienced in real life,

Historia
I have a dangerous secret. I'm more than a human, but less than a dragon. My name is Isobel Drake. I thought I was the only one of my kind, a freak pretending to be human. But when a dragon warrior unexpectedly appears to demand my help, I realize for the first time in my life that I'm not alone. Like me, Tam appears human. Like me, he's hiding his true nature. Too bad he’s made it clear that I’m a lesser creature. Yet he needs me because of my unique skills. I was raised as human. I know my city inside and out. My brand-new business advertises that I can find anything, or anyone.

Mixed review
Revisado: 12-05-21
The audiobook narrator nailed the main character, and her ability to handle the many accents required for this book added much to my enjoyment.
The story wasn't bad and kept me wanting to see what came next. However, while I know I need to suspend disbelief when reading fantasy novels, some of the plot points strained that to the max. The book also ended with a no-no in my judgment. Usually, series writers resolve the plot in the current book while leaving the door open to what might be the next book's story, but Brandt ended with a cliffhanger.

They thought the fears were gone. They thought the nightmares would stop haunting them. But the five of them were wrong. They’re older now. They’re friends. But that friendship can be shattered so easily when life turns scary again. It was bad enough when it was just clowns and sharks and snakes. Back then, they had to conquer their own fear. Now...they have to conquer everyone else’s.

Great ensemble work!
Revisado: 02-27-21
The narrators did a terrific job creating characters who came alive and who worked together seamlessly to create an atmosphere and tell the story. In fact, it might be too scary for preteens. Great message in the story as well.

I had been enjoying the Amelia Peabody books, and then I discovered Barbara Rosenblat’s narration of them. Ms. Rosenblat is simply an amazing voice actress.

The narrator brought the book alive for me
Revisado: 08-27-19
A touching, sensitively written romance, The narrator took the story to the next dimension. I stopped hearing her voice and just watched the story unfold in my head in the characters' voices. The author must be very pleased with what she has done for her book.
