P P Savage has created a world in the near future that is both exciting and frightening and the narrator did an amazing job bringing it to life. With AI, Mars colonization, and climate change on Earth fueling future events, Savage weaves an epic adventure that pulls the reader into the story. Book 2 keeps up the pace with rapidly evolving events that intersect across worlds. And his characters are hard-pressed to catch a break before their lives are upended again. The intrigue accelerates in this book, and individual agendas become more transparent. The big question becomes who do you trust? This is an awesome series that is very thought-provoking and possibly a good look at what we will face in 30 years.

First off, the narrator was great. He really did an awesome job switching between the characters. Really impressive and fun to listen to.
It takes place in the year 2053 and depicts a very realistic version of our future – a crumbling society controlled by powerful mega-corporations, and rapidly advancing technologies enabled by Artificial Intelligence no one really understands. The book includes all the elements for a fast-paced, action-packed story that keeps you wondering what is going to happen next.
Science fiction fans will appreciate the research behind the future tech and space exploration described in the book. The author builds on current trends to create a truly believable vision of our world 30 years from now. And it’s a little unnerving.
The rich cast of characters brings the story alive, and their quirky behaviors are truly entertaining. I love how the author has developed “communities” of characters that evolve with their circumstances. The ordeals of the Mars colony are distinct from Earth dwellers or long-term space station residents. The author has done an excellent job of showing how personalities and human/AI interactions evolve as environments diverge.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fast-paced stories that keep you guessing about who to trust and what is going to happen next.
