Have just finished episode one and thoroughly enjoyed not just the stories, but the narrarator. Very well told and with such an easy flow. I am quite sure that I am hooked on this series.

Listened to this on a snowy Sunday. Just finished my ham dinner and apple crisp and turned it on and was actually surprised by how well done it is. I loved it!! Looking already for other books like it. This is a very interesting book. This author is fantastic.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Underground Railroad (Oprah's Book Club) to be better than the print version?
Yes, as the speaker is - and should be - an African American woman. It makes it all the more forceful in all it's terrible truth.
What other book might you compare The Underground Railroad (Oprah's Book Club) to and why?
I suppose it is much worse than roots in that you actually hear what you would normally "know", though unspoken, what these souls endured. From the women being raped, to children being carried away, to men dying in trying to protect their families.
Which character – as performed by Bahni Turpin – was your favorite?
They all were. I commend their courage so much.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Learn from History - Ignorance in All it's Cruelty.

Wonderfully written and apparently by the hand of a highly skilled, writer. People, myself, often forget that Dickens was actually, a very funny man. :)

The fumbling, clueless, rich and retired old men trying to agree and execute a plan to "change the world!
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The correct atmosphere.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I enjoy it, so would rather devote two hours per night to listen and enjoy with a hot cup of tea, lit fireplace and soft, clean pajamas and slippers. It's a wonderful way to end a day and get ready for bed.

The leading man was very valiant. The heroine, though shaken, held it together. God bless both characters.
