Great to hear Raphaels voice again. He really brings Jack and Dee to life.
Set ten years after book three, we find New Zealand rebuilding still after the Variant scourge nearly wiped them out.
I really enjoyed this installment. In terms of storytelling, I think the author has improved. The action is more intense, the characters each have an individual voice.
Alexander Soren-the villain was brilliantly written. Even though she was evil I could understand her.
Loved the Maori culture and use of the unique kiwi vernacular! makes a nice change from everything being American.
More please.

Different and thrilling

Enjoyed this series because it's such a different take on the genre. The Nameless travel all around the globe fighting OPIS attempting to stop their plans.
From what I gathered the overall theme of the books is that the world is overpopulated and the villains tried to figure out a way to solve it. Like anyone, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Great characters that have heart and flaws like us all. If you're tired of the same old plots I highly recommend listening to this. Raphael is an amazing narrator.

I thought book 1 was a thrill ride. Book 2 takes it up several notches and then some! We pick up from where the first book left off and learn the fate of our heroes. Did Shadow Squad survive? What about Earth?
Plug in and listen to RC narrate this sci fi thriller from one of masters in the genre.
Loved it. Bring on book 3

Loved this action packed sci fi apocalypse! great characters and a storyline which kept me on my toes. The premise is unique and thought provoking.
The world has divided. Those that support AI and those against.
What happens? You must read it!
RC is a fantastic narrator who brings the story to life.

Thrilling conclusion to a wild ride!

Really enjoyed this series. While it is action packed all the way through. There are plenty of heartfelt moments. Characters that rise to the occasion and do what needs to be done to keep America and the world safe from evil.
All the while, moral questions are being asked in a way that you never know who to trust.
Fantastic!

Another stellar outing from AJS... Shadows picks up immediately after the events of Whispers of Ash as Ryan and his team try to make it back home to America. But the Yakuza and OPIS have other ideas! love the characters as they struggle with the moral and ethical problems they are presented with. I'm beginning to detect a deeper meaning to this story and the underlying theme I think the author is trying to convey. This isn't just an action/post apocalyptic thriller. It asks questions.
What would you sacrifice for humanity?
Is good and evil really black and white?
If you had an opportunity to save the world from destroying itself, are you willing to kill billions?

Bring on book 3! I need to find out.
Also, I must say the narrator is fantastic! brings the characters to life

Variants invade the south Pacific!

loved this addition to Extinction cycle universe!
The NZ trilogy is at first a love story where a husband and wife are desperate to reunite as the world they knew crumbles around them. Weaponized Ebola mutates and causes humans to become apex predators!
What follows is the story of ordinary people standing up and taking the fight to evil.
Fantastic Loved the inclusion of the Maori culture.
Highly recommend

A twisting thrill ride

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started listening to this book. I really enjoyed the Extinction NZ books and the narration so I was confident it would be good. It didn't disappoint! As the action unfolds you are taken from wartime Philippines to modern day Japan, Oregon and California. Each chapter has plenty of action and the unexpected twist in direction is what I enjoyed the most.
If you like post apocalyptic thrillers and want something different then I can't recommend this enough.

Humanity fights back in Variant plagued NZ!

Following on from the outstanding debut of author Adrian J Smith. The Fourth Phase picks up 7 weeks after the events in The Rule of Three. Jack and Dee have teamed up with Ben and two others to form the Renegades. Thrown back into the hellish landscape. I loved the edition of Maori warriors and learning about some of their culture. The character Boss was an inspiration, missing leg and all. The author really knows how to paint a picture as if you are right there amongst. I'm really liking the narrator too.

Exceptional and Unique

Absolutely amazing. loved every minute. Every character. NSS is an author to watch. Skydiving into the apocalypse. Heck! Frightening monsters and hellish landscapes. You can't get much better. Bravo.
