Historia
In 1936, Bruno Richard Hauptmann was executed for the kidnapping and murder of Charles Lindbergh Jr. Almost all of America believed Hauptmann guilty; only a few magazines and tabloids published articles questioning his conviction. In the ensuing decades, many books about the Lindbergh case have been published. Some have declared Hauptmann the victim of a police conspiracy and frame-up, and one posited that Lindbergh actually killed his own son and fabricated the entire kidnapping to mask the deed.

Two thousand arrests. One hundred off-duty arrests. Six thousand assists. Fifteen shootings. Eight shot. Four kills. These are not the performance statistics of an entire NYPD unit. They are the record that makes Detective 2nd Grade Ralph Friedman a legend.

Factual incorrect on many many things.

The Harlem Purple gang started in Prohibition era Detroit and “moved to NY where the children and nephews of older members became the latest crop”. What?! You’re the cop chasing them and you don’t know they’re 2 TOTALLY different gangs. The Harlem Purples were mainly Italian and the Detroit Purples were mainly Jewish yet they’re sons and nephews?
Thank God he is not a cop anymore. The civil rights be broke that ended up in cases getting tossed made the busts worthless.
Anyway, if he can’t get his facts right on a major gang he was allegedly chasing then why even bother listening to the rest of it.

Historia
In May 1974, as President Richard Nixon faced impeachment following the Watergate scandal, the House Judiciary Committee commissioned a historical account of the misdeeds of past presidents. The account, compiled by leading presidential historians of the day, reached back to George Washington's administration and was designed to provide a benchmark against which Nixon's misdeeds could be measured. What the report found was that, with the exception of William Henry Harrison, every American president has been accused of misconduct.

Don’t listen to the Trumpers who don’t like this book because the author mentions truths about tRump. As this book point out, every president has done questionable and possibly illegal things, tRump just happens to do more wrong than any past president. The truth speaks for itself.

Historia
After a brutal day investigating a quadruple homicide, Detective Hoke Moseley settles into his room at the un-illustrious Eldorado Hotel and nurses a glass of brandy. With his guard down, he doesn't think twice when he hears a knock on the door. The next day, he finds himself in the hospital, badly bruised and with his jaw wired shut. He thinks back over 10 years of cases, wondering who would want to beat him into unconsciousness, steal his gun and badge, and most importantly, make off with his prized dentures.

Historia
Everybody Had an Ocean chronicles the migration of the rock 'n' roll business to Southern California and how the artists flourished there. The cast of characters is astonishing - Brian and Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, eccentric producer Phil Spector, Cass Elliot, Sam Cooke, Ike and Tina Turner, Joni Mitchell, and scores of others - and their stories form a modern epic of the battles between innocence and cynicism, joy and terror. You'll never hear that beautiful music in quite the same way.

Historia
Fought in a tangled forest fringing the south bank of the Rapidan River, the Battle of the Wilderness marked the initial engagement in the climactic months of the Civil War in Virginia and the first encounter between Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee. Gordon C. Rhea provides the consummate recounting of that conflict of May 5 and 6, 1864, which ended with high casualties on both sides but no clear victor. With its balanced analysis of events and people, command structures and strategies, The Battle of the Wilderness is operational history as it should be written.

Historia
In the summer of 1937, a California crime stunned an already grim nation. Three little girls were lured away from a neighborhood park to unthinkable deaths. After a frantic week-long manhunt for the killer, a suspect emerged. Justice was swift, and the condemned man was buried away with the horrifying story. But decades later, Pamela Everett, a lawyer and former journalist, starts digging, following up a cryptic comment her father once made about losing two of his sisters. Everett unearths a truly historic legal case that included the genesis of modern sex offender laws and the last man sentenced to hang in California.

Great book but one issue with narrator
Revisado: 01-15-22
Overall this is a wonderful book and well worth the price. My only issue is with the narrator’s continued mispronunciation of city/towns; especially Inglewood. Over and over again the narrator says “englewood”, which while annoying doesn’t take away from this well written story.

Great stories, loved the narration. My only problem is the book isn’t long enough! I could listen to 8 more hours of these stories.
Regardless, I’d buy another book the same length by the authors if given a chance.
