This story is not the story written by Louis L'amour. It has been totally re-written.
This story is so-so as it is nowhere as good as the original.

Historia
Michael Freeman is a disabled veteran who had just been fired from his mind-numbing cubicle job, which allowed his opportunistic girlfriend to dump him. Now, he only wants to spend some time at his grandfather's mountain cabin so he can unwind, away from the drudgery of daily life and with a cold beer in his hands. Standing in his way is an ancient spaceship with an emotional AI, nanites that have invaded his body, an international crime syndicate, a suicidal FBI agent on a vigilante mission, terrorists . . . and that's just the beginning.

Utopia
Revisado: 04-25-23
Prior to purchasing this book, I listened to the sample. The book sounded interesting, and the narrattom was good.
To my surprise, the book was just mediocre.
The hero of this story finds a spaceship and decides to build utopia. He then sends for his friends a Marine Force Recon team.
Needless to say, this group is a cross between the A-Team and the X-Men, with a dash of Stargate SG1 tossed in.
For me, this book was a huge mistake. I decided not to give out any more information so as not to destroy the book for someone else.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Scandalous? No. Surprising, yes.
Revisado: 02-06-23
When I began this book, I did not read it for scandal. The only reason I bought it was his interview with Stephen Colbert. Harry reads this book in a monotone and gives no clues about his feelings. His feelings are in his words.
This is the memories of a member of a dysfunctional family. Many of the incidents can be related to by the reader/listener.
Harry speaks about his sometimes contentious relationship with his brother. Yes, I had the same with my 7 siblings. Harry mentioned that at Eton, William told him to pretend they weren't brothers. Translation, William wanted to hang around people his own age. we all do after a while.
Harry talks about smoking pot at Eton. Where were his guards? Why didn't the school know about this? I pondered the lack of "protection" Harry received.
He mentions, in passing, about his trouble learning. There is no mention of being treated for a learning disorder.
When he meets Meghan, he becomes nauseating. At this point, family stress appears, and the situation starts to spin out of control.
On the whole, I'm glad I read it.

Narration
Revisado: 11-29-22
There are 2 narrators performing the same characters. Why this was done is beyond comprehension. I expected the characters to be divided male narrator doing male characters and the same for the female characters with the female narrator. I don't like listening to double narration and find it annoying.
The story is average and flows along fairly smoothly.
Will I buy it? No, as I do not like how they did the narration.

Simon is the best delivery boy that Mr Edwards’s restaurant has ever had. He’s on time every time, and he’s gotten nothing but good reviews. But he needs more money. His mother’s medical treatment won’t pay for itself, and his father is already working three jobs to try to make ends meet. But it might just be his lucky day: Mr. Edwards has another job for him. It’s more delivery work, but not the usual kind. You might even say that it’s out of this world. Oh well. Beggars can’t be choosers, and the pay is fantastic.

Revisado: 11-14-22
This isn't a usual story, but it does entertain.
There is no high excitement, but it is an easy listen.
Unlike some stories, you can't skip any of the story, or you will get confused. Which is a change.
The characters are familiar but are written in an unexpected way.
I might get another volume just to see how the messenger changes the next world.

PALADIN
Revisado: 11-02-22
On the whole, I enjoyed the book. I have read quite a few stories about the collapse of our civilization.
This is the first book that has a positive spin on the subject.
It has people who refuse to accept the fact that society has changed and wants life as it was before. Criminal gangs roving about or taking over areas by intimidation. There are people who are attempting to rebuild society, one group at a time.
The only weak spot is that the ending is slap dash. It is as if the author has become tired of writing the story. From the way the ending has been written, I have no doubt that a sequel is in the works. I plan to check it out.

Magical Private Detective
Revisado: 06-14-22
This is the second of a new series and as such shows a lot of weakness. It does have potential to be a top notch Detective story.
I found it mildly entertaining but I do have trouble with focusing attention.
The narrator on the other hand needs improvement. Her voices are close in sound which is distracting. Elise's voice has a slur which I don't recall from the earlier story.
So far her ghost partner has very little to do with the story. I hope this changes.

Historia
Lady Katherine would rather chase clues than suitors. Her reputation as a matchmaker could give her the cover she needs to follow in her detective father's footsteps. If she catches the Pink Ribbon Killer before he strikes again, she'll win her dowry and her independence in the process. One look through the exclusive Northbrooke estate house party doubles her suspect list. With the help of her trusty maid and her precocious pug, Katherine risks it all to unmask the killer. But is winning her freedom worth putting another debutante in mortal danger?

An Invitation to Disbelief
Revisado: 12-04-21
This story has a major problem, the author has no clue about the sexual mores of English High Society.
Debutante 's are being killed and they are having affairs with Lord's.
17 and 18 year old girls go straight from the school room to Society Balls for the sole reason of finding a husband.
I cannot see how a Debutante can get away from supervision long enough to have a sexual encounter with a experienced male. Add to that I doubt she would have the panache to be able to meet her lover in public with or without his wife and not become flustered.
This book is the type of story that I hate. A story that the writer did not research and the Editor did not flag a having a problem.

Historia
The day I was drafted into the army of the gods, all I knew about being a MASH surgeon was what I’d learned from Hawkeye Pierce and Hot Lips Houlihan. Now here I am, Dr. Petra Robichaud, in the middle of an immortal war, assigned to a MASH camp with a nosy sphinx, a vegetarian werewolf, and an uptight vampire who really needs to get a life. At least they’re all too busy with their own dramas to discover my secret: I can see the dead. It’s a forbidden gift, one that can get me killed, so I haven’t told a soul.

Definitely not Sugarland.
Revisado: 08-30-21
This story is darker and has more depth than any story of Angie Fox's that I have read.
While there is humor in the story, I didn't do more than chuckle. Could be my mood as it was dark while listening to the story.
Having watched MASH, both the movie and series, I much prefer this story as I became tired of the juvenile antics in the series. This story feels more real as I could relate to the emotions of the characters.
One character named Face reminds me of the A-Team; which is a program that I detest. Face is well named as he shows one face to his coworker's and only shows his real face to his enemies.
I did feel that this story has a feeling of 2021 politics at times.
I probably will listen to the next installment.

Historia
Ex-CIA agent turned suburban scout leader, Merry Wrath, is just trying to live a normal, quiet life. But all that goes out the window when a convicted traitor (who's inconveniently not in his prison cell) dies on her doorstep, and an obese cat, who bears a disturbing resemblance to Hitler, decides to move in. To make things worse, it's time for the annual troop cookie sale, her new boyfriend's old college flame shows up to win him back, and someone's shooting at Merry in the frozen foods section of the grocery store.

Book 2 better than book 1
Revisado: 07-06-21
This book starts out at a faster pace and with humor. Because of this my interest was immediate. The author has improved the story cohesiveness but it still needs improving.
The reader still can't do male voices while her reading is deliberate and not fluid.
Sometimes the story feels forced but mostly it flows along smoothly.
I adore the Brownie troop which brought back memories of my Mom's Cub troop. The interaction between Merry and the troop was the highlight of the story for me.
Give this book a try as it is much better than the 1st.
