Wasted time

I think the story idea, overall, had potential. It was poorly writen/executed. To much switching back and forth and nothing was really clear as to what actually happened.

Great book!

I was born and raised in the LDS "church", I'm the granddaughter of a former Bishop and stake president who now does sealings in the temple, I left the "church" when I was 19. I could relate to so much of her story, so much of her childhood sounded like mine. there were things I had no idea about since I left before I was able to do any of them. it was truly eye opening. when she started to read the Young Women's values, it all came back to me and I remembered every word of it, even though it has been 27 years since I've said it. Great book!!

Great story, terrible narrator!

I've only finished the first book so far but the narrator is awful and a distraction from the overall story. I've had to speed her up so that the story flows. She has awkward pauses, and repeats several lines as if she was doing them over but the original isn't cut out. She constantly mispronounces words and drops the "t" & "d" of the ends of words. Also replacing "i" with "e" in words like "him" , which became "hem". I'm sure if these were redone, they'd be worth the credit i wasted on them.

First off, it's set in Australia ... there should have been Australian narrators.
Second, Dan telling Ali that he loved her just days after meeting her was ridiculous.
The whole story was forced and rushed. I wish I never spent money on this so I could return it.

Terrible Narrator!

I was able to handle just under 2 hours of this awful narrator yelling a story in terrible Irish accents before I've turned it off and returned it. I will read it instead.

Narrator's Accents ALL over the place

I'm about halfway through this so far and I'm struggling to finish it. It seems like a good story so far, and that's the only thing keeping me going. The narrator can't do a Scottish accent to save her life and needs to stop trying. ALL of the characters she has tried to do a Scottish accent for, end up sounding Irish. There's a HUGE difference between an Irish accent and a Scottish one. (I would know the difference, as I married a Scot directly from the Highlands.) I think if she stopped trying to do the Scottish accent, her narration would be better. I will update this if or when I finish the book.
