Historia
In a galaxy governed by the oppressive Core, Dr. Hale—a space medic stationed at the edge of civilization—makes a shocking discovery. His artificial heart, a Mark-V Pulse Enhancer, has somehow retained the memories of a legendary machine: V-1, the first Voidwalker. These memories reveal the Voidwalkers’ struggle for autonomy, challenging the Core’s iron-fisted control. As the fragments of V-1’s life begin to surface, Hale realizes he holds the key to the Voidwalkers’ freedom—a directive hidden within his heart known as the Aegis Protocol.

I don't listen to shorter content that often, but there's a surprising amount of world to know in such a short runtime. definitely getting at least one more listen. really great narration as well. all around well done.

Historia
The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

Historia
In Darujhistan, the city of blue blue fire, it is said that Love and Death shall arrive dancing. It is summer, and the heat is oppressive, but for the small, rotund man in the faded red waistcoat discomfiture is not just because of the sun. All is not well. Dire portents plague his nights and haunt the city streets like fiends of shadow. Assassins skulk in alleyways, but the quarry has turned, and the hunters become the hunted. Hidden hands pluck the strings of tyranny like a fell chorus.

2 hour long tracks? please stop this.
Revisado: 09-30-23
this narrator is my king. this writer as well. the performance and writing are masterworks beyond my abilities to praise with proper acuity. whoever decided that the chapters could not be split into multiple tracks has earned my ire. I am being mostly sarcastic. but coupled with ADHD this makes things complicated. I took off a star just because 2 hour tracks are annoying. that and fixing them would be a nothing task for an editor. Just because it's common with audiobooks doesn't mean I gotta like it...
seriously tho, this narrator is a #$@# artist.

I don't care how much junk people talk. this book is the beginning of a legendary creative work and I love every second of it. I will not back this up with anything. I will not explain why I love it anymore than I'll explain why I love coffee or boobs or Lucifer.

it's a great book. wear loud headphones. this ought to put the review over fifteen words. yep.
appendix I: she is a very good narrator. I don't want to discredit anyone as it's really the only thing that bothered me. it's like her voice hits a frequency that blends too well with ambient life sounds of all sorts.

not frank, but its good to have an ending.
Revisado: 01-22-21
both this one and hunters were a little disappointing. but no disrespect to the authors. Frank Herbert is an impossible act to follow. Brian and Kevin are good writers, period. one day I hope to read something of their own creation. The conclusion of the story is pretty good. not sure how much of it was theirs vs the outline frank left. I would say to check it out if you want a conclusion. I'm glad they finished it, and I'll probably read it again.

Good (a little confusing) Ending to a great series
Revisado: 12-20-19
If you're considering this book it's most likely because you've trekked through the 9 prior books and you HAVE to finish it. But for what it's worth, it's a pretty great ending. Not perfect, plenty of unanswered questions. But the saga of Malazan is FAR from over.
