Wow. By all means, this story, the characters, and the writing were superb.

The story follows a little maid called Alice who after escaping her past now lives a normal life where the money comes from hard work and not quick hands. Till a little albino boy nicknamed Rabbit pickpockets and takes her Master's pocket watch. Alice determined to return her Master's beloved pocket watch is thrown back into her past of lost love, thieves, and murderers. Alice swore to quit the life of crime, but life has a funny way of bringing it all back up when you least expect it.

Every single character is amazing, I even loved the Queen of Hearts and strive for her level of pettiness daily. When each character is so perfectly written that you even adore the bag guy, you know you got a masterpiece on your hands. I literally couldn't put it down till I finished it. And after that I even added more to my wishlist! Eyeing you Beauty and the Beast! You're next!

I never imagined a story would be this good. Please do yourself a favor and pick this up the next time your at a book store. You won't regret it!

This was coming from someone who thought there was no way to make the crazy of Alice and wonderland into a competent book. Especially with the odd quotes and sayings brought in. I thought this would be IMPOSSIBLE to be good. I was right on one thing...I wasn't good. IT WAS PERFECT. I want to read the next book STAT.

Honestly, I can't tell who I loved more, Alice or The queen of hearts. I fear and love them equally.

Keep an eye on this author because she's got talent!

Wren has had a hard life since early childhood, but her life makes a cinderella turn around when she's offered a life of riches and luxury. She is noticed by the Guildmaster for her wonderful skilled treats with more than a hint of something special inside. Everything is about to go in Wren's way! What can go wrong?!

How about a perfectly planned murder with Wren as the prime suspect?

So...Maybe, not the Cinderella life turn around she was expecting.

Now her life is on the line for a murder she didn't commit. Wren must work together with a group of practical strangers unsure of who to trust before Wren is tortured by the inquisitor who will be arriving in two weeks' time! Not a lot of time to solve the perfect murder and it shows. Can she solve who framed her and killed the Guildmaster before time runs out?

This book is not normally one I would have picked out, I tend to think cooking shows and movies are kinda boring. However, something about the summary really drew me in. I am so glad I ignored my gut feeling and gave it a shot. The book never once feels borning. It was a constant adventure of who did it and why. We are strapped in with Wren and sitting there stuck pointing fingers along with her. Everyone has a good motive but who exactly is the one who did it.

I quite enjoyed the adventure, enough to buy it in physical form despite getting it for free. The book never felt too rushed or too slow. It felt like the perfect speed. There are enough characters to make you scratch your head and all with food motives as to why. The romance aspect of it was very realistic to an actual romance, it was slow-building and actually pretty adorable to read. The ending and the actual who done it made perfect sense. Coming from someone who NORMALLY can figure out who the killer is ten seconds in, I really was scratching my head till it was revealed. I didn't even have them on my radar and that was so much fun to be surprised. I didn't expect that level of planning and advance thinking from a YA, seeing as it seems complicated thought out and normally it's usually given freely to young minds to figure it out. I do plan on rereading it and seeing the signs I missed.

This story isn't too sweet or sour, it's baked just right and I do recommend it.

This was a fun ride and as a reader of YA. I think this is one of the best I read. I couldn't put it down once I started and even though I got it the other day. I read it in one sitting, which I normally try not to do since I have stuff to do. Oh well, I am willing to put my chores aside for this delicious treat.

I only wish we had some recipes from the book to try, I was craving a Wren cupcake the ENTIRE book. Yum!

This book is the equivalent to a screeching violin

Every character in here is terrible. The main character is like drinking bleach she is so annoying. The daughter in her briefness was annoying. The husband was trash. I have never been so irritated in a book and I wish i stopped reading after hearing the wife repeatedly claim she was super jealous of a dead girl getting the spot light.

the book feels as though it could have been explained in a chapter and this whole dumb innocence thing with laura jean makes her just to relate to. she's supposed to be a teenager. not in 6th grade.

Has been my favorite book since middle school

This book is so beautiful. I really adore this book even now. The characters though sometimes a bit too much, it's the story. The 'Tenderness' that makes this my favorite book. The symbolism and the end of the story really make this book so much more than a YA book. I read this book over and over again. It never gets old. There's a movie too but the movie isn't as great as the book.

Really seemed to drive it's story on the crudeness. I felt it was just that. nothing to grab you. could have lived without reading it or watching the tv series. nothing kept me interested. all the characters unlikable and all the situations were too ridiculous to have worked out. would skip.
