Inheriting your uncle's supervillain business is more complicated than you might think. Particularly when you discover who's running the place. Charlie's life is going nowhere fast. A divorced substitute teacher living with his cat in a house his siblings want to sell, all he wants is to open a pub downtown, if only the bank will approve his loan. Then his long-lost uncle Jake dies and leaves his supervillain business (complete with island volcano lair) to Charlie. But becoming a supervillain isn't all giant laser death rays and lava pits.

Great word building and a well thought out plot. So many funny moments as the MC bumbles his way through the story. Highly recommended.

Another great episode!

This series is amazing and ‘The Heart’s Blood Arrow’ is a fantastic addition. There’s wonderful word building, lots of action, and true love. Nick and Parker are such interesting and likeable MCs, and the secondary characters more than hold their own. I cannot recommend the entire series too highly, but please note that they need to be enjoyed in order.

Historia
Every psychopath in the Mulvaney family has a role to play. Archer Mulvaney is the gambler, a drunken reprobate making his living as a high-stakes poker player. Very few people know the real Archer, not even his brothers. But there is one man who knows far too much. Mackenzie Shepherd spends his days photographing endangered wildlife. He’s also the brother of a sociopath and son to the woman who literally wrote the book on raising one. When his mother asks him to head a secret government project, it seems like the perfect excuse to run away from his life.

So good!
Revisado: 02-18-23
This entire series is amazing and Lunatic may be my favourite! Great plotting and word building by the author that Liam DiCosimo truly brings to life. I highly recommended this book and its audiobook, but for the best experience, the series should be experienced in order.

Historia
If love at first sight is a fantasy, why does what they have feel so right? For the past few years Otto Proulx has been hiding in the shadows, living vicariously through others. Maybe it’s time for a change? Greg Trainor runs a kite shop and helps his friends out when they need it; that’s the kind of guy he is. When he sees a car stuck on the side of the road he stops to help, never expecting to see the stranger again. One night of passion leads to...several more, and suddenly both men are searching around to define what they have together.

Nope

First time with this narrator … and the last. There was a droning quality to his voice that I found off putting. The book was written by one of my favorite authors, but I doubt that I’ll ever give it a re-listen.

Historia
Few people would willingly spend the night in a murder house, but Victor Bayne is up for the challenge. He’ll do whatever it takes to get a look at his permanent record, including going undercover in a townhouse where a recent death took place. Why not? There was no foul play involved, and as a psychic medium, he’d know if a ghost was creeping up on him. The whole “murder house” claim is just a product of a kid’s overactive imagination, and he’s confident he has the situation under control.

PsyCops 10
Revisado: 07-03-19
With the title of “Murder House,” I pictured an isolated creepy gothic mansion. Instead, the story is set in a 3-year old townhouse in Boystown! In a change of pace, Vic goes undercover with his new partner (don’t worry, not *that* kind of partner), Jack Bly, one of my favorite supporting characters. We also get to see a new side of Carl, who can morph into a very take charge guy, and Veronica Lipton. But, don’t worry about Jacob; he is well represented in the book.
Gomez Pugh’s performance was, as always, brilliant as he brings the characters to life. His portrayal of the snarky, 80+ year old Sylvester Hale was spot on.
So, get set for almost nine wonderful hours of listening to Vic, Jacob, and assorted characters in Murder House. Oh, and did I mention the Mongolian hamsters?
