Historia
In 1945, Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon. Their blissful reunion is shattered when she touches a boulder in one of the ancient stone ruins and is instantly transported to a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans—in 1743. Will Claire find her way back to her own time, or is her destiny forever linked with Clan MacKenzie and the gallant James Fraser?

A Soap Opera.

So, I fed in to the hype for this series and got the 1st two books. I didn't even make it half-way through the first book before I just had to give up. the main character is, at least, intelligent but I found her to be, well, pathetic. it seems like the men are always trying to rape her and she is constantly needing to be saved by other men. Everything plays out like a soap opera. The main Male character seems to be a stereotypical "female's fantasy" of tough, rugged, sensitivity. The narrator was okay, acting-wise, but all the females sounded the same and all the males sound the same except for a change in accent. The actual writing style was excellent. I just could not stand the soap opera storyline whatsoever.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. least helpful resource
Revisado: 01-02-19
Out of all of the study tools I utilized while preparing for the exam, this was, by far, the least helpful. Most of the information I found to by irrelevant or a bit too much in detail for the NREMT. I did exceptionally well on the exam and passed the first time but this book definitely did not assist in the process. Perhaps if the questions and answers were explained rather than stated so the student could get a feel for the style of logic needed for the NREMT exam questions, this would've been a much better tool.
