Well spoken, original, and principled ideas.

As a combat veteran of Afghanistan a lot of Junger's ideas resonate. He outlines the reality of American society and then provides positive, constructive methods of seeing and acting in a more meaningful, tribe-like way. Junger's brotherly tone and obviously helpful intentions allow him to address some of the more challenging issues some would rather not hear which I admire him for not shying away from. I think everyone could gain from reading this short book but especially anyone struggling with trauma and/or reassimilation into society.

Amazing writing.

David Foster Wallace is one of the few writers that can pull you in so deep. as long as you can stay with ham and maintain focus when he goes hyper realistic you will be rewarded. That being said it is difficult to always maintain that Focus. also he tends to go dark and sad and bleak so if you're trying to be positive and stay happy not always the best author. it is amazing his ability to sum up complex subjects such as the American zeitgeist, politics, and culture in a way that is easy to understand and profoundly demystifying in a weird way. David was the man.

Bob ocean diving off the coast of Chile being alone and at peace.

I have a lot of respect for Yvonne Chouinard. He lived an amazing life and was mindful the entire way. after listening I yearn to climb mountains, to work in such an amazing company as Patagonia, to start an organic farm, and to practice Civil Disobedience. To think about life and put your thoughts to action.

This is a great reminder to follow your heart and do what you know is right in business and in life. Derek's story is a success story of following these principles and trusting yourself to do what you know is right and what you want to do versus following what everyone else is doing.

I hoped this audiobook wouldn't be boring when I started and I have to say it has become one of the most interesting audiobooks I've read. Feynman is so interested and engaged with the world it is enjoyable to listen to his stories. Whether it is him engaged in science, music, art, picking up girls at the bar, or helping the school board select a textbook it's his unique, think-everything-through perspective that is so fascinating. I listen to Tim Ferris and other such things that aim to win you over to their way of thinking and it's Feynman that seems to me to be the happiest way to live. To try and understand everything that is in front of you like a kid.
