Historia
A mysterious cargo plane, flanked by a squadron of Russia’s most lethal fighters, has just taken off from a remote airbase. Closely monitored by the United States, no one inside the Pentagon has any idea where it’s going or what it’s carrying. A high-level Russian defector, a walking vault of secrets that could shatter the West, seeks asylum in Norway. Across the continent, in the heart of Paris, a lone French agent stumbles upon a conspiracy so explosive it could ignite a global firestorm.

Most of the book was set-up for the action portions, of which there were fewer than usual. It's not my favorite Harvath book.
Revisado: 10-14-24
The background got tedious after the first 5 or 6 hours. Had a tough time staying with the story.

This fascinating journey through Mexico’s history, from its amazing pre-Hispanic past to the end of the 20th century, will reveal more surprises than the listener can imagine. In the words of the self-proclaimed Mexican singer Chavela Vargas, “Mexico has magic. I looked for that magic, and I found it there.”

Worth listening to
Revisado: 03-11-24
Short but entertaining, this brief history of Mexico rarely drags, very informative. I would recommend it.

Historia
1992. All across the United States respectable, upstanding citizens are showing up dead. These deaths could be accidents, and they don’t appear to be connected—until a fatal fall from a high-floor window attracts some unexpected attention. That attention comes from the secretary of defense. All of a sudden he wants an interagency task force to investigate. And he wants Jack Reacher as the army’s representative. If Reacher gets a result, great. If not, he’s a convenient fall guy.

Slow, painful listen
Revisado: 02-17-24
Not the same level of writing or storytelling as the earlier books.
Hard to listen until the end, it just was not interesting. Even more far-fetched than usual, and Reachers character in this story was nothing like what we have become used to.
I won’t be buying future Reacher novels, the franchise has become weak and uninteresting.

Historia
With President Anthony Cook convinced that Mitch Rapp poses a mortal threat to him, CIA Director Irene Kennedy is forced to construct a truce between the two men. The terms are simple: Rapp agrees to leave the country and stay in plain sight for as long as Cook controls the White House. In exchange, the administration agrees not to make any moves against him. This fragile détente holds until Cook’s power-hungry security adviser convinces him that Rapp has no intention of honoring their agreement. To put him on the defensive, they leak the identity of his partner, Claudia Gould.

Could barely tolerate the narration
Revisado: 09-26-22
Good story, but I liked the series better when Flynn was alive and writing. The big problem was the narrator….he stops in places where normal speech would not stop, and his cadence is annoying and distracts you from the story.
I had a hard time believing that someone listened to him read before hiring him to narrate this

Heavy religious slant
Revisado: 09-26-22
I should have read more reviews before buying, the heavy religious content is not my thing, if it’s your’s you may enjoy the fiction.

Decent but flawed
Revisado: 01-31-22
This story had good points; listening to Mr Smith describe his childhood fears and feelings of failure, and later how these feelings influenced his life and career. But it also sounded very ego-driven….constantly referring to yourself as ‘The biggest movie star in the world’ while recounting box office totals, etc. just distanced the author from the reader.
And something that was distracting and at times annoying; as Mark Twain reportedly said, “Don’t use a five dollar word when a fifty cent one will do”. Especially if the five dollar words sound contrived. Please Will, next book please put away the thesaurus!
