I loved this book. The female character is strong, brilliant, capable, and very likable. It was not predictable. And I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator.

Where does The Accidental Alchemist rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was a very entertaining book. Very easy to fall into the story and keep you there.
What does Julia Motyka bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She is a GREAT narrator. Her voices and accents were brilliant. She brought all sorts of emotions through her voice.

The narrator ruined it for me

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
The book yes. The audible book, no.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
From the first sentence, I knew this book would be difficult to get through because of the narrator. The vocal fry drove me crazy. I live in Texas. There is a difference between a Texas accent and a general southern accent. Her accent was awful and she fading in and out of it throughout the whole book was distracting. The quietness/softness of her voice made it sound like she was in a closet conspiring. She didn't want anyone outside of 3 feet to hear her.
Any additional comments?
I'm sad to say that I won't download the rest of the series because of the narrator.
