Historia
In this intimate, haunting, literary memoir read by the author, an American icon tells her story for the first time, in her own gorgeous words - about a challenging and lonely childhood, the craft that helped her find her voice, and a powerful emotional legacy that shaped her journey as a daughter and a mother.

Inspiring and heartbreaking
Revisado: 01-05-25
Vulnerable, Honest and Extraordinary! It’s so hard to believe that through what we the audience deems as successful, Sally just sees herself as ordinary. Her story is one of a family legacy, wanting to be accepted and heard, abuse instead of love… I have always admired her as an actor… but now I am in awe of her as a human. Sally Fields truly is a national treasure and I am sure I’m not alone in my admiration of her. Sally, you are a truly wonderful woman. I’m sure we’d enjoy each other’s company over a cup of tea or hike outdoors. Such an amazing book of honesty and vulnerability. I loved every wonderful and heartbreaking page.

Historia
As a daughter, mother, and friend, Mary Laura Philpott considered herself an “anxious optimist”—a natural worrier with a stubborn sense of good cheer. And while she didn’t really think she had any sort of magical protective powers, she believed in her heart that as long as she loved her people enough, she could keep them safe.

Normal Life
Revisado: 01-05-25
This is a story about everyday life and things we learn along the way. It was an ordinary story about a mom who struggles with her own issues, about her son’s issues and how Covid affected their family. I kept waiting for some extraordinary moment or wisdom and there wasn’t any… it’s more of a memoir of a moms life… it’s a story many of us could tell… same story, different versions. I’d be hard pressed to recommend…

Historia
Brooke wants. She isn’t in need, but there are things she wants. A sense of purpose, for instance. She wants to make a difference in the world, to impress her mother along the way, to spend time with friends and secure her independence. Her job assisting an octogenarian billionaire in his quest to give away a vast fortune could help her achieve many of these goals. It may inspire new desires as well: proximity to wealth turns out to be nothing less than transformative. What is money, really, but a kind of belief?

Not Entitled
Revisado: 11-18-24
This is a story about a naive woman who is trying to find herself. And about an old man trying to find himself in this young woman. The story had numerous unnecessary details that simply prolonged the book… added pages but no depth. I actually have spent my career serving in nonprofit work and I found the story offensive… neither character wanted to do good for truly philanthropic reasons. They both wanted something from each other not FOR others. I felt like I wasted my time. The author made this story about power and greed… and we already have enough of that. This was not an enjoyable read

Historia
1975 is a time of change in America. The Vietnam War is ending. Muhammad Ali is fighting Joe Frazier. And in the smalltown of Monta Clare, Missouri, girls are disappearing. When the daughter of a wealthy family is targeted, the most unlikely hero emerges—Patch, a local boy, who saves the girl, and, in doing so, leaves heartache in his wake. Patch and those who love him soon discover that the line between triumph and tragedy has never been finer. And that their search for answers will lead them to truths that could mean losing one another.

For the missing
Revisado: 07-13-24
This book… it is about loss… the loss of child, loss of childhood, loss of love. And while there is redemption, it is just a heartbreaking story of loss. In my mind, Saint is the hero of this story. Her absolute strength and dogged pursuit of truth for everyone, and ultimately for herself, makes her the hero. Patch is a feather in the wind… trying so hard to find a place but continuing to be guided by the emotions he doesn’t even recognize. My only criticism is the length of the story… I was weary in many ways by the end

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Excellent Memoir
Revisado: 03-04-23
It so easy to hear or read something and assume it’s true… but Harry’s story questions the motivation of British newspapers… which is to SELL PAPERS… soap opera, drama, bad news all sells… and if it’s not true, make it up, embellish… the truth isn’t important, money is the priority… at the expense of the actual humans. The jockeying and collaboration between Royal comms and the press is so very problematic. And sadly even royals, who know all about the British press’s lies, fall victim to believing the utter nonsense. Harry has lived a privileged life but also a sheltered life with a twisted power struggle. I have no doubts this family loves each other, but are absolutely pitted against each other in some weird public popularity contest. I’m glad H & M are living the life they had to choose. I think they would’ve been an incredible asset to the whole Royal narrative but I’m happy they are free of the nonsense. Harry’s story was authentic, honest, and revealing… it is his life and his story.
