Historia
In January 2007 two young stoners from Miami Beach - one a ninth-grade dropout, the other a licensed masseur - won a $300 million Department of Defense contract to supply ammunition to the Afghanistan military. Incredibly, instead of fulfilling the order with high-quality arms, Efraim Diveroli and David Packouz - the dudes - bought cheap Communist-style surplus ammunition from Balkan gunrunners.

good story, not so good performance
Revisado: 10-17-23
The story is really interesting but the performance is distracting with the bad accents. got a little tired of the constant pot head references and the cringe inducing repeated use of referring the guys as "dudes".

Historia
I was born and broken in Birkenhead, abused from infancy by a network of every kind of pervert from ‘thinks it’s love’ to ‘show it hurts’. I was unwanted, beaten, sold, swapped, photographed, filmed, left for dead, corrupted, blamed, betrayed, ignored and orphaned. But I was also born with a fire inside me. I call it my Phoenix Fire. I am no victim—that word only describes what happened to me. Nor am I a survivor because that implies I am over it. I am a Phoenix—a work in progress. This is my story....

A story of horrific trauma, strength and unwaverin
Revisado: 08-19-23
My heart was completely shattered for Shy and all those years she endured of being unwanted, abused, tormented and broken from infancy... INFANCY! My mommy brain could not rationalizr how this could possibly happen to a purely innocent baby, toddler, child. The anger for the system that had every opportunity to help and protect her was at times overwhelming I had to stop the reading. But in the end, like a Phoenix, Shy rose from the ashes and rubble of her horrific life better than ever before. A truly shocking story with a incredibly inspiring ending. How someone can endure so much and live to tell the tale is really remarkable. my heart goes out to Shy, and all the other forgotten, unwanted and abused children. I wish there was more that is being done, now more than ever.

Historia
In the autumn of 1558, church bells across England ring out the joyous news that Elizabeth I is the new queen, yet one woman hears the tidings with utter dread. She is Amy Dudley, wife of Sir Robert, and she knows Elizabeth’s ambitious leap to the throne will draw her husband back to the center of the glamorous Tudor court, where he was born to be. Elizabeth has inherited a bankrupt country where treason is rampant and foreign war a certainty. Her advisors warn her that she will survive only if she marries a strong prince to govern the rebellious country. She desires Robert Dudley.

good book as always but

Another good P.G. novel but the narrator speaks so softly that it's at times difficult to hear her.

Revisado: 02-05-20
Hannah is such an annoying character. She's back and forth, doesnt know what she wants. I finished to the end because I needed resolution to this one, but she is just so wishy washy. Gets herself caught up in all this mess and then is shocked to find out she's caught in the mess. Not one of my fav P.G. novels to be honest.
