What a gift Rachel Hauck has - Wow to how she weaves such a real story together with the fairytale allegory thread so well together. The whole royalty theme can be overdone but this author personalizes the characters so well and with believable personalities and lives. So many true to life deep issues addressed. It was a beautiful story of the intimate aspects of forgiveness to yourself and each other that isn’t just lip service, along with such a balanced storyline that kept me poised for what was next. An artful way to open up a gentle introspection in the reader’s heart on multiple levels. I loved it so much.
I can’t believe I waited so long to listen to this series- one more to go and I am really looking forward to seeing how this series “wraps up”.

Gifted story weaver

What a gifted story weaver Mimi Mathews is. The use of visual details along with her articulate descriptions of the characters thoughts and emotions come together so beautifully, almost like poetry. Together with the narrator’s incredible talent, it’s a win-win-win.

I loved this book so much!! From this narrator to the movement of the storyline it kept me leaning in!! I want it to keep going- please write a sequel!! This was my first from Mimi Mathews - am looking forward to others now!

Powerful story with deep messages woven throughout

This is the second book I’ve listened to by Connilyn Cossette and I’m again so moved by the depth of truth woven through her stories at just the right time. Truly this is a gifted writer who isn’t just creating a story but hearing His voice and translating his heart through story - just like Jesus did with the parables- in a way that reaches deep.

Amazing storyline and so well written

Wow - I loved this book in pretty much every way. The way the author weaves the different storylines together so masterfully was beautiful. Something in each line resonated with me somewhere. The way she dissects the “issues of life” through the characters and their stories is so well done. I know this sounds dramatic but truly this book left me pondering my own story and inspiring me on multiple levels.

Absolutely love the intricate detail

I love reading stories that teach me things like this one does so effortlessly. So very interesting to get a glimpse into not only the time frame but the world of food and additives coming into play. I’m a huge foodie but had no idea this book would tap into that love. So fun! I’m sad to leave my people now - Would so love a “part 2”!!

Unique storyline

Loved this storyline and the blending of the cultures along with the themes of art and plants as well. The narration added so much to the story. Will have to look for other titles she narrated. Although you can get past the narrator when it’s needed it really makes a story 100x better when it’s as good as this one.

Unexpected

I did not expect this to be as inspirational and motivational as it was - very impressed. Was just looking for something to help me get organized, but also wanted something motivating. I went back and forth trying to decide between another book that I thought might help clarify my thoughts and this one, but kept coming back to this, wanting to try to grasp this process. But I was SO glad I chose this. I absolutely loved the breaking down of all of all the process to get to the inner needs that drive us to get things done or change our lives. I appreciated that and found this book incredibly and unexpectedly motivating. As I listened I thought, maybe someone else "wrote" this because so much of it was so poetically written. I found my self wanting to write down some of his words to remember specifically just because the imagery was so beautifully stated. I was thinking - this journal guy wrote this? Then at the end learned he was a creative writing major and it all made sense. Great use of your talent and passions together, Mr. Author. Thanks for writing it.

I love the spiritual depth of the story, and the insights into faith and unconditional love. I also really appreciate the closing remarks, in how scripture is described with new clarity. An amazing series.

Awesome story

Really love biblical historical fiction and this has been one of the best. I wish there was a sequel but am looking forward to So Shines the Night. Also very cool that we can go to her web site and see pics of the places she wrote about. Love it!
