Just as good as the first, if not better

I really enjoyed the character development, the building of friendships and the navigating of the challenges from entitled nobles. The Mc is both very strong and in a world where many are far stronger. Excellent story telling. I am excited to read the next book.

I particularly liked the early parts of the book where the MC is forced to grow out of a very limited and sheltered life. The narration by Christian J. Gilliland was very well done.

I had picked this up because of recommendations I saw online and then let it sit as I had other listening to catch up on. This blew away anything else I had been listening to and I wish I hadn't waited. Loved all the characters. Loved the action. Narrater did a great job. I will definitely pick up the next one.

The author's character development was top notch. It was so good that I felt uncomfortable when the MC was making mistakes because the writing made it resonate. The interactions between characters was excellent.
There was a part of this novel that felt like a transition to bigger things. I am really interested in the future of the cultivation part of the novel. I will definitely purchase the next one.
Travis Baldree did a brilliant job with the narration once again!

MC is an idiot and mistreats women

I thought the premise of the book was interesting. The MC keeps makes poor decision after poor decision. His treatment of the female character he meets is terrible. I had to quit as I wanted him to die painfully, over and over. I doubt I will try other books by this author as this book was so distasteful.
I recommend giving this one a hard pass.

I loved this book so much. In the first book I found some of the interactions with Frank overdone but in this one they were perfect. I loved Ned learning to trust more and accept friendship and House learning to be a person. The story was fantastic and the ending perfect. It is one of the most enjoyable books I have listened to in awhile.
