Great premise … too short!
Revisado: 07-31-24
The story was well rested yet needed more development. I understand and today’s world people have short attention span. However, I would like a well developed character parade. The story was too short.

Historia
As the trainer known as "The Protector" at the most elite warrior training school in England, Fox has carved out a niche for himself training new recruits and distancing himself from the crushing failure of being unable to protect his love from a furious queen. No one knows of his past, but ten years after his abject failure, the subject rears its ugly head again.

The story and reader are great!

Wonderful story. My only disappointment is that the story is too short. It could be longer with more details! These are great to listen to while working on household chores or driving to work!

Historia
Enormous, with a Scots father and a Greek mother, Tay Munro is the stuff gods are made of. He is also the meanest, biggest, nastiest trainer of men at Blackchurch. Most importantly, he is a firm believer that women should not be warriors and he does his best to wash out the female he is assigned to train. Enter Athdara de Ghent. Beautiful and mysterious, Tay is attracted to her from the start but that does not stop his attempts to break her. When he realizes how strong she is, he becomes intrigued.

So nice to hear this read!
Revisado: 06-28-24
I read this book many years ago. It was a real page turner back then. I enjoyed the suspense and story even more with someone else reading it to me. I’ve listened to The book twice now, it was as enjoyable the second time through as the first. I’m sure I will listen again. All of Kathleen Woodiwiss’ books are wonderful; she was a talent who’s light dimmed too soon. rIP Kathleen; your legacy lives on!

Historia
1333 A.D. - The lovely and educated Lady Aubrielle Grace di Witney is what is kindly termed an unmanageable woman. Her uncle, the Earl of Wrexham, has been awarded custody of his niece because her mother can no longer handle the head-strong beauty. Like a coward, the earl abdicates his duties to his most powerful knight, Sir Kenneth St. Hever with the instructions to transform her into a submissive lady. Aubrielle and Kenneth are at odds from the onset; Kenneth expects obedience and Aubrielle is less than compliant.

Should be listed as Book 3
Revisado: 03-23-24
Great story. After listening first time through the trilogy I realized that this should have been listed as book 3. Wish I hadn’t listened to the epilogue! The last sentence was a downer!

Different twist to a romance
Revisado: 05-06-23
Somewhat of a different twist to what I have become accustomed to when I read a romance novel. Very intimate scenes Caspian is wonderful and Brad’s voice for Caspian is oh so good I melted!

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

GREAT Story, VERY Convenient!
Revisado: 07-18-13
What did you love best about Outlander?
Learned much about 18th century life (medical practices, superstitions, conveniences/inconveniences, day-to-day living, etc.) along with historical events. Also learned several Gaelic terms and phrases.
What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Because the story is written in first person, listening to Davina Porter's reading of the story is like listening to Clair telling her story. Ms. Porter's voice inflections and accents are wonderful!
Any additional comments?
I have read the Outlander series (7 books to date, waiting anxiously for book 8) and enjoyed them. I wanted to reread them but did not have time to waste reading when I have a mountain of housework that needs doing. The audio book was the perfect solution. I can wipe down cabinets, clean out closets, put winter clothes into storage, etc. AND listen to the book at the same time. WONDERFUL!
