Historia
When a high-ranking officer gallops into the quiet Mistyvales, he brings a warning that shakes the countryfolk to their roots. But for Aedan, a scruffy young adventurer with veins full of fire and a head full of ideas, this officer is not what he seems. The events that follow propel Aedan on a journey that only the foolhardy or desperate would risk, leading him to the gates of the nation's royal academy - a whole world of secrets in itself. But this is only the beginning of his discoveries.

Historia
When life seems pointless to Norton, he accepts the position of Incarnation of Time. With the other incarnations - Death, Fate, War, and Nature - distracting him, Satan springs a cunning trap. Bearing an Hourglass is a fascinating, richly imagined tale that reaches beyond genre conventions. Science-fiction/fantasy legend Piers Anthony combines a gripping plot with a serious and thought-providing study of good and evil.

ok book
Revisado: 05-20-11
This one was a VERY slow starter, (way to many details) its supposed to add t the story and only distracts from it. Great narration (Rip Frank Muller) once the story picks up and ties into the Dark Tower series it gets better. Worth the listen if your patient

pretty bad
Revisado: 04-24-11
I am an avid Stephen King fan but this is probably the worst I've read. Mostly it is the abysmal narrative as 'Flag' was not a whispering man and there is really no reason for the pause for .........................Dim. The accents are well done but that is little consolidation because of the terrible depiction of Flag. I'd no recommend nor listen again as I would every other Stephen King I've heard. Not really sure how this is a 'prelude' to The Dark Tower series as Steven Dushane (Roland's father) nor Gilead where he hails from is present in this book. The only likenesses are the passing mention of RIA of the couse and Flag which is hardly the same man as in The Dark Tower.

Great Story
Revisado: 04-19-11
All is coming to a climax at this point, will they live will they die, will the tower stand of fall. Jam packed with action and a nice little paradox, along with Mia's development you might find she is not so evil.....ok she is evil but.... lol

Thread: deadly silver strands that fall from the sky like rain, devouring every organic thing in their path - animals, plants, and people alike. Who could believe that such a horrible thing could exist? After all, it's been 200 years since Thread supposedly fell on Pern. No one alive remembers that first onslaught. There's no sign of it anywhere in the world.

Historia
An air of pleasant anticipation hung so thickly over the Halls, Holds, and Weyrs of Pern that it had affected even the businesslike ways of Moreta, the Weyrwoman of Fort Weyr. Her dragon, Queen Orlith, would soon clutch; spring had made a glorious debut; the Gather at Ruatha Hold was extremely merry; and Moreta was enjoying the attentions of Alessan, the new Lord Holder of Ruatha Hold. Then, without warning, a runnerbeast fell ill.

Terrible
Revisado: 12-12-10
Narrative is monotonous and no personality. I was so confused by the end of the first chapter, 'the winged ones' (the kids? the dragons?) The coolest part of this book and we are blindfolded by a stone grandmother whom died in and explosion that did the town no harm?? Are the dragons evil? If so why js the protagonist so in aw of them?
