Historia
The United States of America is falling before the armies of the dead. Leading the sole survivors of the US Army's 10th Mountain Division out of the overrun city of New York, Captain Phil Hastings heads for the safety of Fort Indiantown Gap, a National Guard training facility deep in the woodlands of Pennsylvania. Joining with other remnants of the military, government, and civilian communities, Hastings and his men must try to keep the tsunami of corpses from taking over the world and plan the resurrection of the nation.

darn you Slater
Revisado: 05-30-21
as a trucker on a water delivery who was broke down (brake drum air leak) who was fantasizing putting a bullet in Slater...I simply couldn't help but love the beat down he got and the hearty belly laugh I got after hearing his background.
everything else is kinda awesome.

Historia
After saving the world many times, the Merry Band of Pirates have accepted the inevitable: Earth is doomed. All they can do is try to bring a few thousand people to safety, before vicious aliens arrive to destroy humanity's home world. No. There is one other thing they can do: hit the enemy so hard that the aliens will regret they ever heard of humans.

Revisado: 03-25-20
basically. the last 3 minutes are line flubs. listen to them. I'm crying laughing. please Podium release more if R.C. Bray flubbing his lines.
the rest of the book is amazing. Black ops is still my favorite book in the series, but this is by far my favorite ending to these books. the last hour it's quite possibly the best hour of any audio book I've listened to. I have roughly 80, and that includes 54 of 1 series.
it's worth your time and money.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Historia
Nineteen-year-old Greg Sestero met Tommy Wiseau at an acting school in San Francisco. Wiseau's scenes were rivetingly wrong, yet Sestero, hypnotized by such uninhibited acting, thought, "I have to do a scene with this guy." That impulse changed both of their lives. The Disaster Artist is Greg Sestero's laugh-out-loud funny account of how Tommy Wiseau defied every law of artistry, business, and friendship to make "the Citizen Kane of bad movies" ( Entertainment Weekly), which is now an international phenomenon.

Historia
The year is 2033. The world has been reduced to rubble. Humanity is nearly extinct and the half-destroyed cities have become uninhabitable through radiation. Beyond their boundaries, they say, lie endless burned-out deserts and the remains of splintered forests. Survivors still remember the past greatness of humankind, but the last remains of civilisation have already become a distant memory. Man has handed over stewardship of the earth to new life-forms. A few score thousand survivors live on, not knowing whether they are the only ones left on Earth....

I've played both games, and seeing the metro from this perspective actually gives the games a weird derivation of perspective. the games actually have a BETTER outcome in the long run. but I kinda wished was a deeper exploration of the group's in the metro.

worthless ideological masturbation
Revisado: 04-25-17
spoilers in a vague sence, be warned
This SJW author has the gaul to piss on BB's character. It tries to be an experience, but from an author with limited understanding of what they are trying to convey. Tragically also without actual compassion for the Saint herself, or resolution at all
They are trying to define how an A.I. can be recognized as human by trying to explain a dream of a rampant machine that if left alone could destroy entire cities. In other words instead of investigating what good there could be for said A.I. to continue its just goes "Doesn't this sound pretty? that's worth risking planetary destabilization right?" with the idiocy of saying yes in spirit.
They try to argue that the risks are not something we should recognize in the wake of the morality of euthenizing a being before it becomes a major threat. THIS COULD BE VERY INTERESTING, however it spins it's wheels too much trying to convey a dream, from an AI, from 500 years in the future, that is literally thinking itself to death.
There is no focus, no conscious thought, no viewpoint from opposing views, and FFS NO RESOLUTION!
LITERALLY NOTHING IS RESOLVED, NO QUESTIONS ANSWERED, NO CHARACTERS CHANGE, AND NOTHING SUBSTANTIAL.
AVOID IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Historia
The Covenant has collapsed after a long, brutal war that saw billions slaughtered on Earth and her colonies. For the first time in decades, however, peace finally seems possible. But though the fighting's stopped, the war is far from over: it's just gone underground. The UNSC's feared and secretive Office of Naval Intelligence recruits Kilo-Five, a team of ODSTs, a Spartan, and a diabolical AI to accelerate the Sangheili insurrection.
