Impressive tale, excellent analysis, Even such well trodden ground can stand such a refreshing examination. The achievement is balancing everything so completely. The statistics and analysis is the beauty of this volume.

Great survey of modern writers

I liked the broad scope of writers included. It's was a pleasant listen. A broad survey of writers could quickly fall apart, but I found the blending successful.

Does this reflect 2020 to me?

Quick answer, no. I went through the pandemic like all of us. Masks, vaccines, politics could be dulled by isolation and time. I thought the book offered a fine analysis of the times, and the concentration on NYC made sense. The analysis and perspective was what will stand. I appreciate having light cast upon events I was only marginally if not completely unaware of. History buff that I am, I appreciate that that the 1919 flu has muted. I also appreciate the global impact of Covid. I believe this will useful a hundred years from now, and definitely worth hearing today.

Raw Valor Versus Cruel Fate

England masters a large convoy to supply Malta, the Germans and Italians have at it. The narrative was clear and well executed. All the elements of cast, setting, action and outcome were woven together to make a fine tale. It can probably use a few additional listens. The transitional roll of England as the United States is starting enter the war is deftly handled, as is most Allied politics. The Germans and Italians are are also given fair treatment. I only heard one glitch in reference to the name of plane, but given all the other insights offered, I would gladly recommend this story to anyone.

A real jem

This Audible book has been my buddy. It is a delight to listen to again and again. I found every author having something significant to say about the books they enjoyed. It is a comfort to hear the contradictions on almost everything. I don't mean to spoil anything, but some I still find the interviews interesting to listen to multiple times. Also the more I listened, the more I researched I admired the ability to stay on topic. These interviews are crafted well.

Still Rocking

Pete Townsend could probably read a grocery list and I would listen. While I big Who fan in high school, such things dim and fade over time. They may have with Pete as well. What I enjoyed was his willingness to share. Yes, he side steps his run in with law enforcement, but it was not that type of story. He was fun to listen to. He is still a powerful voice, creative, and fun to hear.

To the point, Enjoyable. I love looking at perspectives on Lincoln's thinking. While such matters are well covered, Mr. In sleep has navigated the terrain well. I delighted listening and marvel at his narrative abilities.

For a person struggling with finding liberal bias, I hear the light. From the beginning, it informs and usually delights. Even heartbreaking news is dealt with head on. It is an excellent way to stay informed.
