He broke down his belief of the "why" behind the top performers and everyone else. Their one more, extra effort, and mindset. It was easy to listen to without falling asleep.

Should've Been About Her Story and Not About Trump
Revisado: 10-18-18
Omarosa, I would've loved to have heard more about you. The most interesting parts of your book were about the struggles you went through to get where you are. Also, the accolades that you achieved from the Clinton White-House to the Trump. This book made me like you (although I don't know you) and understand that there is more than what you appear to be in public.
Instead, this book was excuses of how and why you chose to take a blind eye to Trump. It doesn't make your actions or inactions any better. Take accountability for your role in all of this. The insight that you gave (that I'm sure we all expected) about a chaotic White-House was entertaining and validated what most of is already expected. I cringed at the notion of the Father-Husband relationship that you described between Ivanka and her father. I enjoyed the insight that you gave about Hilary Clinton.
The book was disappointing for the most part, but entertaining at others. You should consider doing more outreach programs for young Black girls and women. Especially those who can relate to you. I do look at you in a different-better light. I still believe that you are an opportunist and there is nothing wrong with that, if you can sleep at night. There is nothing wrong with you being ambitious Black woman. I can't think of too many who wears their drive so boldly and more should. By the way, everyone knows about Pence already. We all know that he is waiting for Trump to get impeached so that he will be president. Above all, he better hope that he has position when this is all over.

Do you remember when you had your first thought of corporate America and working there? A job of high importance came to mind, maybe even wearing a suit and working in a fancy office. The sad truth in the matter of this place is, although it has its perks and benefits, it has about as much politics and as many cliques as the high school cafeteria. When thinking about life after high school we always imagined that the real world wouldn't have as many barriers.

Anyone Beginning Their Career Should Read This
Revisado: 08-03-18
All these rules apply in the government as well. I did 8-years in the USAF, worked within the government since then, and recently started a corporate job. I started getting like everyone was playing by a set of rules that I want familiar with. The government is always looking for ways to save time and money. Corporate America says that they do too but push back with so much force when you suggest or implement a change. I live Robert Greene's books anyway, but this one I immediately applied and things were better. In his words "I learned to color the roses." Which is another way if saying in military jargon "Shut-up and color!"

A different perspective
Revisado: 01-31-18
This book will motivate you to get your financial life in order but the Principles aren't anything that we haven't heard before. it just gives a perspective of a strange man asking his neighbor for money and receiving so much more. It motivated me but it could've been summed up with "Pay attention to where your money is going and how much interest you are paying."

I needed some guidance
Revisado: 01-29-18
This book was so helpful about the challenges daughters face with unhealthy mothers. I realized that my mother would fall under the sadistic category and choosing not to deal with her is the best thing to do; since she will never acknowledge her part, or get help with her depression. I loved the final chapters about how to deal with the backlash of family members once you take that step to cut your mother off. I am a bit of a people pleaser when it comes to those close to me and will allow them to cross boundaries, so this gave some suggestions for that. Great read.

Not Bad. Good Book for Fans or
Revisado: 08-16-17
I think that if you are a fan or interested in breaking into the radio industry, you will enjoy this book. I expected something entertaining and ignorant, to get me through the banking hours of Corporate America. Instead it was a bit educational (slave trade history in SC), insightful (the belief system of The Five Percenter's and why he related to it), and motivational (all his obstacles leading up to where he is). Also, taking that power away from people making you feel bad.
What I didn't like is some of the long rederick of his misguided youth and who he and his wife did in college. Some of the stories seemed like bragging (like the issues with Jay, T-Pain, and Busta). But most of it was entertaining. I also don't agree with not having personal items on your desk. I understand why he believes that, but I think that when you create an environment like you are just passing through (unless that is what you want), then you always will be. I can't remember where I heard this saying but it's "Make yourself at home, but don't get comfortable."
I've been hearing "Living in your truth" a lot lately. It is just our generation's way of saying "Keeping it real." Well most of the things that comes out of someone's mouth when "Keeping it real" makes them seen "real" stupid. I get his message about not tailoring your words to appease people, but it is not the best advice to give to that young person who may pick up this book. I still believe that if you don't have anything nice to say then keep it to yourself. But on that same note, being brutally honest is how he got his platform.
I am familiar with the breakfast club but have never listened. After listening to this book I am convinced that I would enjoy the show. I am now interested to hear what he has to say. His energy makes you want to listen.

Not Bad
Revisado: 07-20-17
It will definitely make you take a look at yourself. The book reminds me of sitting in class listening to a professor. It is well read and will keep your attention. The last chapter or two hit home. Playing the victim to give reason to act out. This book is for anyone who wants to assess some of their actions and constantly asking themselves why. It breaks down emotional intelligence for someone who's never heard of it. It also touches on mindfulness, which goes hand and hand with emotional intelligence. Good Luck.

Here, the FUBU founder and star of ABC's Shark Tank shows that, far from being a liability, broke can actually be your greatest competitive advantage as an entrepreneur. Why? Because starting a business from broke forces you to think more creatively. It forces you to use your resources more efficiently. It forces you to connect with your customers more authentically and market your ideas more imaginatively.
