As someone who has transitioned 21 years ago, but has dabbled with my gender expression for 29 years prior (I'm 56), I can honestly say this book has been healing to me in many ways. It's a book I should've written years ago, but didn't have the courage or resources to do so. I think this book has come out at the right time. There is so much hatred in the world towards being trans, it's a shame. It's good to see someone with educational credentials making all of the arguments in this book. It seems most of the haters are simply uninformed and choose to remain ignorant. These are usually the people who scream the loudest and hope their voices are heard over more sensible people. Keep up the great work on your YouTube channel and hope to read more books from you in the future!

Not a great family law outline, but really funny!

The family law portion of the audiobook is kind of sparse on details and doesn't include most of the cases I learned in my family law course at Penn Carey Law this semester, but I will say that whoever wrote the How to Get Into Law School portion is totally hilarious. I love the odd delivery of much of it. It's a bit snarky, but not too biting. I'm surprised Penn was mentioned in it a number of times :)

The narration is great, but the story isn't for me

Five stars for the narration. I love the character voices. Ms. Howard has managed to create characters that come to life off the page. I'm even entranced by how she plays the male characters (e.g. the husband) and makes them sound so seductive! Alas, the perfect character voices don't make up for a story that really peeves me off. So she fantasizes about being with someone inferior to her and is married for what purpose? To support him financially in the future? There were several points where I just said, "You've got to be kidding me!" aloud and just hated how the story progressed. What started off as something with plenty of intrigue and potential turned into a revelation of so many character flaws. I'm sorry, but I can't get into stories like this.
