Historia
Scottish comedian Fern Brady was told she couldn't be autistic because she'd had loads of boyfriends and is good at eye contact. In this frank and surreal memoir, she delivers a sharp and often hilarious portrait of neurodivergence and living unmasked.

This book is by turns funny, fascinating and fearless. As a neuro-typical female I am grateful for the insight this book provides.

Loved reading this, loved listening to it more!
Revisado: 09-14-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Read the book but didn't want it to end so decided to listen to it too. Was surprised and delighted to find that doing so added even more texture and depth to my experience of the story. Sometimes we skim ahead when reading a book to find out what happens, but with audiobooks it is easier to simply let the tale unfold at its own pace. Loved, loved, loved this one.
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
Aomame (of course!)
If you could take any character from 1Q84 out to dinner, who would it be and why?
The widow would be my dinner date. She is clearly a person of substance -- strong, successful, disciplined -- but also clearly an eccentric. I believe a dinner with her would be peppered with many subtle surprises.
Any additional comments?
Haruki Murakami must be a Raymond Chandler fan or perhaps simply the man himself returned for another round. Murakami writes like a post-modern slumming angel. The scene with the widow in the greenhouse is a perfect example of a Chandler-esque scene transported into the modern age.

Powerful Story Enjoyed Despite So-So Performance
Revisado: 09-14-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The narrator has a distracting habit of pausing after each sentence. Really loses the flow and almost made me stop listening (which is rare indeed). Managed to tune it out eventually but this was definitely one of the poorer performances on Audible.
What other book might you compare Norwegian Wood to and why?
All Haruki Murakami books.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of James Yaegashi?
Jonathan Davies
Was Norwegian Wood worth the listening time?
Definitely worth the listening time. A Japanese modern classic that communicates much about that culture which is especially enlightening for a Western listener.
