Historia
Who are you, really? In an uncertain world, we crave the security of knowing exactly who we are and where we belong. But too often as women, we try to find this safety in our roles and relationships, our professional accomplishments, or our picture-perfect homes. And as we do, our souls shrink smaller and smaller. It's because these things aren't made to hold us.

Recommend to all church ladies!

This was so refreshing to hear a Christian stance towards humanhood. Not womanhood or masculinity but basic humanism! The way God intended us to see each other. So many great uses of scripture and Jesus’ teachings used to bring about her point each chapter. I’ll be ordering a hard copy just so I can reread it in hand.

Loved it so much, but some parts hard to navigate chronologically
Revisado: 02-10-24
Listening to Perry read this is like hearing his last performance over and over. It’s a genuine telling of his life, with enough truth mixed with comedy that even when he’s at his worst you still absolutely love him. I would spend my commute listening to him and sit in the car even when I reached my destination to finish the current story. So good, I’ll probably listen to it again!

Historia
There is a voice of longing inside each woman. We strive so mightily to be good: good partners, daughters, mothers, employees, and friends. We hope all this striving will make us feel alive. Instead, it leaves us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed. We look at our lives and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this? We quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful, hiding our discontent—even from ourselves.

Not what I was looking for
Revisado: 07-14-20
It’s a very personal story from the beginning. I couldn’t get through the book because I just kept hearing personal antidotes of her own life that just didn’t carry over to my own. Sadly, I didn’t finish it and probably won’t.
