Historia
Southern Rivers is a thoroughly crafted exploration of the perilous state of the Southeast's rivers and the urgent need to safeguard their vitality. The region's rivers are the epicenter of North American freshwater biodiversity and are the top global hotspot for important aquatic animals, including mussels, turtles, snails, crayfish, and fish.

Thought-provoking and covers a wide array of issues
Revisado: 12-19-24
A lot of information presented and tackled from different angles. Narration was good but there was the occasional choppiness (and occasional mispronunciation of Mobile 😉). Overall a good book that was interesting to someone from Nebraska, allowing me to find parallels but also get a sense of new issues in such a fascinating and important region. Also inspires a desire to follow up and seek even more information on some of the issues and solutions, and how I may apply that knowledge back home.

Improbable Destinies will change the way we think and talk about evolution. Losos' insights into natural selection and evolutionary change have far-reaching applications for protecting ecosystems, securing our food supply, and fighting off harmful viruses and bacteria. This compelling narrative offers a new understanding of ourselves and our role in the natural world and the cosmos.

Fantastic read and easy to follow
Revisado: 05-17-23
Lots of information that is easy to follow. Losos does a great job going into enough detail in each study for the reader to understand the intent, result, and significance. I don't think you need a background in biology to get all the great lessons from this book. Losos does a good job keeping it fun and I think the narrator has a voice to also keep people engaged.
