Such an amazing journey!

So many lessons to draw inspiration from; even from the parts I may not be familiar with, and the values I may not share in their entirety, I started the book expecting a chronology of the Gracie Family and their impact on Jiu Jitsu and MMA, and while there is that part, the whole of Rickson's personal journey, his arc of being a young man in search of greatness, to a man in search of harmony with something greater than himself, has me shaken, and inspired my own search.
By far, this is in my Top 5 Books of ALL time!

Remember why I read this book every year as a teen

This book helped shape my mind so much when I was a teenager. The words of Minister Malcolm are so alive, raw, and profound, I felt as if he was personally training me to think for myself. Hearing the audiobook reinvigorated that feeling once again, especially in the current political and social climate we are now facing.

Helped bring the New Testament to life

This is such an amazing book to read. Putting a historical timeline to the books of the New Testament, understanding the meaning of some of the more obscure references (at least to myself) has made the New Testament come alive to me. I want to read more & understand more what the writers were inspired to write by God.
