Historia
Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse have been friends for 30 years, but when life intervened, what was once a joyous and spontaneous friendship dwindled to the odd phone call or occasional catch up. Then, Glory Be! They were both diagnosed with heart disease and realised that time is short. They'd better spend it fishing.... So they dusted off their kits, chucked on their waders and ventured into the achingly beautiful British countryside to fish, rediscover the joys of their friendship and ruminate on some of life's most profound questions, such as: How did we get so old?

Absolutely lovely
Revisado: 01-20-21
This book needs to be listened to. I loved their friendly banter and how they didn't shy away from difficult subjects. I listened to it while I was very sick, and it was such good company. I especially loved the part where you're brought along on a fishing trip in the middle of the book. So lovely.

Historia
Most of us recognize that climate change is real, and yet we do nothing to stop it. What is this psychological mechanism that allows us to know something is true but act as if it is not? George Marshall's search for the answers brings him face to face with Nobel Prize-winning psychologists and the activists of the Texas Tea Party; the world's leading climate scientists and the people who denounce them; liberal environmentalists and conservative evangelicals.

Easy without oversimplifying, a real eye-opener
Revisado: 06-07-19
This book provides insight into both sides of the climate debate, especially why so many deny that climate change exists, which has always baffled me. I recommend this book to anyone, no matter where you stand on the subject, because you will learn about not only the people around you, but yourself, too, and why we act the way we do. It is also excellently narrated and easy to follow with short chapters, the perfect book to listen to whilst commuting to work (or, now that summer is approaching, relaxing on the beach?).

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Amazing! But..

The male voices are a bit weird/annoying. But that’s easily overlooked. The reader has a beautiful voice.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

...wow
Revisado: 03-05-18
I am lost for words. Trevor Noah has really been through it all. I’ve learnt so much from this book, about apartheid, about living as a child with an abusive stepfather, about life in SA and what it was like to grow up as a coloured person. As a young white girl from Norway, it couldn’t be further from what I’ve grown up with. Everyone should listen to Trevor’s story, draw inspiration from his mother, and learn from their experiences. The world would be a better place if they did.

Hilarious and motivational!
Revisado: 01-28-18
I’m a huge fan of Michael McIntyre, who’s probably seen every clip of him that exist on YouTube. Therefore I had high expectations- and this book preceded them. I listen to audiobooks as I walk to and from university, and if you do the same, be prepared to be that seemingly crazy person who laughs alone in public. I had no idea of how much Michael has been through in his life, but he manages to make even the sad parts funny. I’ll probably listen to this book again in a year just because the stories are so good.

Historia
As far back as he can remember James Corden has only ever wanted to be in one place: in front of you, doing something to make you laugh, cry, shout, or giggle uncontrollably. At the age of 4, he grandstanded throughout his baby sister’s christening, standing on a chair in front of the whole congregation, pulling faces and cracking everyone up. Despite himself, the vicar was impressed. And from then on he couldn’t get enough of the spotlight, even when it always seemed to avoid him. Throughout his teens, he and his Dad trudged up and down towards London....

James will make you smile on even the most dreary days
Revisado: 03-09-17
It's been a pleasure to have James accompany me on my otherwise quite dull walks to and from university. If you're one who's afraid of laughing in public - this book is not for you. After a while I gave up on hiding my smile that pressed on as I listened to James' stories, and received many confused and sometimes annoyed glances from the rushed Londoners who passed by me. Totally worth it. He's an hilarious but most of all lovely man who I didn't know all that much about, I'd seen him do Carpool Karaoke on his show, but as he told his life story I realised that I've seen him so many times before that. Made me think about how much work actors go through before they're actually discovered, and James has certainly worked hard. If he ever reads these reviews, I'd just like to say thank you. I enjoyed it from start to finish, and learned a lot, not only about you, but about life as well.
