refreshing new take on fantsy
Revisado: 06-22-16
Great story, good characters, lots of action. My only complaint is that the characters were introduced too narrowly and it made them hard to figure out as to their importance. The writing was well done and was properly edited. I was pleased at the originality she had in development of the book.
I highly recommend this book.

utterly delightful and surprising take
Revisado: 08-04-15
Where does Lady of Devices: A Steampunk Adventure Novel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In my personal top 25 out of the hundreds I read each month.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lady of Devices: A Steampunk Adventure Novel?
Her decision to take matters into her own hands regardless of the odds against her.
What about Fiona Hardingham’s performance did you like?
Yes I did . She did a splendid job in her reading of the characters. It was a pleasure to listen to her.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Niether, but rather to pump my 65 yr old fist in the air with a huge grin and a "Right On!"
Any additional comments?
This book did surprise me. I like the steampunk theme and have only read maybe 6 at the time I saw this one. I was intrigued by the reviews and gave it a chance, with low expectations. However, this was extraordinary in its development of the characters and situations. The author put me right there next to the action as if I was a player in the story as well. The original plot and course the story took was so believable and although the science was odd it was entertaining and well thought out.
I look forward to the next book. Well done I say!! Well Done!

Revisado: 05-20-15
Would you listen to Earthrise again? Why?
Finally a story that is fun, full of adventure, lots of crazy characters. Well, developed characters that win you over immediately and the way in which scenes are laid out makes us feel right at home with them all! Which is amazing seeing as how everything is happening in a futuristic other world of outer space. Haven't liked a new Sci-Fi story so much since Star Wars!!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Earthrise?
When the Eldridge discovered what the crystals really were.
What does Daniel Dorse bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I believe he brought out the depths and descriptions is such a vivid manner as though he were a grandfather sharing stories from his own past to his family.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and no. Yes because i was enjoying where it took me and no because it was a two day long read .
Any additional comments?
I really got to know the characters well by the end and only wished that Reese wasn't so combative. I liked her better when she was calmer.

very technical approach to the trials
Revisado: 05-18-15
What made the experience of listening to First Do No Harm the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed the story, the intensive research and regard to detail and accuracy in the presentation of the legalities. The characters were quite well developed and plot lines clearly delineated. Wanting to see right win out over corporate law practices kept me tuned in to the story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Morty Stein because we all want to believe in the altruism of the professional we turn to in need of their expertise. It is refreshing to read about altruism in the practice of the law , when most of us carry a bitter taste towards the motives of lawyers. Morty gives us hope that there are many more like him out there.
Which character – as performed by J. D. Hart – was your favorite?
Sammi
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No , much too detailed and drawn out for a one sitting book.
Any additional comments?
Yes, I would ask the author to edit out some of the unnecessary and redundant details of the rule of law, as the overly lengthy descriptions just bogged down the story.

Revisado: 05-11-15
Where does The Lupane Legacy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This saga takes us over a long journey in several peoples intertwining lives and plays it out in an all too realistic to today's news manner. Has a strong romance angle that is very tastefully done. There were a few loose ends here and there technically as if the author did't really understand the gadgetry the character was using. Overall, a good read.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lupane Legacy?
the shoot out
Which scene was your favorite?
the tunnel
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, when Desmond explained things to Constance.

Revisado: 05-10-15
Where does Death of Secrets rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I have listened to some great works and this ranks up there at the top!!! It was wisely and emotionally displayed in a fast and heart-stopping suspense of political intrigue and corporate greed. The twists in the plot are layered so well you have to pay close attention through to the end! I cannot wait to read the next book, this author has it all. He has an innate understanding of personalities and dialogue, as well as , a firm grasp on the technicals for the storyline. I only enjoy these when the plot and story are very plausible and could be out of the news headlines. This one deserves to be noticed for its outstanding readability and subject matter. Get it and read away , you wont be disappointed.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Death of Secrets?
For me there were several of them but I guess the best was the climax, and since I don't want to give that away , 'nuff said.
Which character – as performed by Alexander Edward Trefethen – was your favorite?
I really liked John, he was so real and I even had a face for him.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
oh yes!! definitely
Any additional comments?
I just wish I had someone to hive five with right now because I am so excited at how thrilling it was. Like when I left the theater after watching Star Wars.

Grabs you immediately and keeps you riveted as an intriguing plot and sometimes comical story have you loving and hating the players passionately.
Time to get your supplies ready and get comfy this one wont allow you to put it down.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hali because I could identify with her inability trust.
Which character – as performed by Teri Schnaubelt – was your favorite?
I thought her portrayal of Simone brilliant
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the boat exploded
Any additional comments?
I have not enjoyed a book this well in a long time. I was pleased and impressed with authors ease in depicting such real characters and great dialogues. I personally, appreciated the romantic scenes being portrayed with finesse and class rather than the crudity
that some seem to think makes good reading,

Not recommended
Revisado: 01-07-15
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I am afraid I would ask it to be completely revamped. The author had a great concept but lacked the writing maturity to present it in a cohesive manner. The fact that the main character does many flashback type scenes that are not clearly defined as such leaving the reader wondering. The writing seems to be chaotic and not well planned out.
Would you be willing to try another book from M. R. Mathias? Why or why not?
I do not think so. I hope this author continues to write and learn from his mistakes. I think he has good ideas, he is just lacking the talent to layout a storyline in a manner that does not leave the reader confused. Also, I found it unnecessarily crude in spots.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
No not at all, The reader could not change his voice a whit to help distinguish the change of character speaking or thinking. Also, his inability to pronounce words correctly was very irritating. It is shameful to my way thinking for someone to take on a production such as this with such a minimal grasp of the language and its usage.
In all fairness, he was very good showing emotions and adding sound to the description as he read them.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
It might be easier to discern what is really going on and who is doing what to whom in film form. However, I would probably be offended at many of the more x rated scenes LOL
Any additional comments?
I would be helpful if the author could use something other than sexual liaisons as motivation for every single thing that goes on in his stories.

An enchanting story
Revisado: 01-07-15
What did you love best about Magic of Thieves?
I enjoyed the tale and the characters. I felt like they were acquaintances after the first few chapters.
What other book might you compare Magic of Thieves to and why?
I saw similarities with many different saga types I have read but with a unique twist and an air of mystery surrounding the players
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
This is where I found the biggest fault with this production. The narrator lacked any semblance of emotion or ability to inflect her voice to show the difference in feeling coming from the parts read. Also, disappointing was her lack of vocabulary and mispronunciation of several words repeatedly. I would relate her narration to a monotone with no feeling.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I was able to finish listening to the story in one sitting while I groomed the dog.
Any additional comments?
I really would like to read the next book in this series but I would rather not hear it read to me by this inadequate narrator.

Revisado: 12-12-14
Would you try another book from Brandon Sanderson and/or MacLeod Andrews?
This book is definitely one that should be classified for juvenile readers. I found the story lacking in depth and character development. The brevity of this work is more indicative of a novella not a full length novel. It was entertaining and I would recommend it to youngsters; I think that audience would be the best readership.
Has FREE: Mitosis: A Reckoners Story turned you off from other books in this genre?
not really, I enjoyed it even if I would not recommend to other adults.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
I am not sure he could have done anything differently and gotten better results.
