Just Too Long
Revisado: 07-12-18
Well written, excellent narration but simple too long and I lost interest. About half way through I was tired of listening to one man’s unlikely adventures in India and decided to move on.

Might have been good
Revisado: 02-25-18
This book might have been good as the narrator was decent and the story was engaging enough BUT whoever thought that music and train sounds at the beginning of every chapter was a good thing was sadly mistaken and should seriously consider a career change. I lasted for about 7 chapters and gave up! Unfortunately the story just wasn’t engaging enough for me to overcome the annoyance of trying to listen to the narrator over the sound of music more suited to a day time soap opera.

I Give Up
Revisado: 05-18-13
After listening to this book halfway through, I give up. The narrator wouldn't be so bad if he didn't try so hard with his female characters. He tends to drop his voice to make them soft and whispery and in doing so, makes them inaudible. After missing most of Amanda's dialogue in the first half, I quit!!! Although the story was interesting enough, it was just not good enough to take me through the second half.
Money wasted on yet another poor narration.

Historia
It all starts with a school essay. Twelve-year-old Gratuity “Tip” Tucci is assigned to write five pages on “The True Meaning of Smekday” for the National Time Capsule contest, and she’s not sure where to begin: When her mom started telling everyone about the messages aliens were sending through a mole on the back of her neck? Maybe on Christmas Eve, when huge, bizarre spaceships descended to Earth, and aliens - called the Boov - abducted her mother?

5 Stars in Every Way
Revisado: 05-12-13
This was one of the most delightful books I have listened to in a long time. Bahni Turpin is genius and her reading of this book was perfect!!! The story was fun and imaginative and kept me entertained the entire 10 hours and 37 minutes. Thank you Audible!

Historia
There isn't much fun in the sun when a billionaire real estate tycoon is found murdered on the Tilt-a-Whirl at a seedy seaside amusement park in the otherwise quiet summer tourist town of Sea Haven. John Ceepak, a former MP just back from Iraq, has just joined the Sea Haven police department. The job offer came from an old Army buddy who hoped to give Ceepak at least a summer's worth of rest and relaxation to help him forget the horrors of war. Instead, Ceepak will head up the murder investigation.

The story itself wasn't totally terrible but listening to the narrator swallow and smack is lips throughout was so distracting! Never again!

Agatha Raisin has never been one for forced holiday cheer, but her friendly little village of Carsely has always prided itself on its traditional Christmas festivities. But this year the bells will not be ringing out, as Mr. John Sunday, an officer with the Cotswold Health and Safety Board, has chosen Christmas as the time to crack down on safety hazards. But Mr. Sunday is soon found face down in the petunias, very much dead.

Good Story, Good Narrator, Annoying Music
Revisado: 08-05-12
Simon Prebble did an amazing job on this story - I appreciated that he didn't try to "act" any of the characters but read them all to perfection. Unfortunately he kept getting interrupted by random bits of inappropriate music that tended to drown out his first words.

Exciting story but dated!
Revisado: 04-05-12
I must say that I found the story good enough to overlook some of the dated dialogue that did not stand up to time and the droning narration. Not good enough, however, to buy more in the series.

So-So
Revisado: 04-05-12
The story was pleasant enough and I might have bought others (on sale) in this series as I am a fibre enthusiast but not with this narrator. I found that she enunciated each word, especially in the dialogue, so much so that I kept thinking she was targeting her reading to a 2 year old. However, I did finish the book so it certainly wasn't the worst narration I've endured.

Gripping!
Revisado: 03-10-12
This was my first John Hart book and certainly not the last although I found the narrator wanting. Elena was not a strong character to begin with but Scott Sowers gave her a whiney voice and what sounded like a Russian accent rather than Spanish which was quite annoying. The rest of the characters were great and the twist and turns the story took all seemed to make sense in the end.
Overall, definitely worth a listen.
