A much changed Gus

I've enjoyed this series right from the time I first found The Hospital totally by accident. I love our much flawed but loveable main man. It took me a little while to get used to the new Gus but I'm glad I did. I will be one of those hoping for a sequel which seems obvious with the twist at the end chapters.. Of course R C Bray is always a pleasure to listen to and this series is no different. If you've read the others I don't have to convince you but if you haven't (and you have a strong stomach), then do yourself a favour and start a the first one. You won't be sorry. Definately a good use of credits.

Ray Porter gave the best narration Ive ever heard.

I rarely review. However, Ive just finished listening to Rage by Jonathan Maberry and the narration was stunning. Ray Porter is a well known artist at audible and Ive enjoyed his work before. This one really is exceptional. The story is great etc etc but Porters reading of it took it to a whole other level. Thank you Mr Porter, I have rarely been more entranced.

Interesting and well thought out

I rarely write reviews. This book really kept me interested which is quite a feat since it's not my usual genre. I think we all love the idea of being able to interact with dolphins. That was the hook that grabbed my attention in the first instance, but the story was so much more. I don't want to give spoilers so I 'll just say that there are many layers to this wonderful book and I will be buying the next very soon. Use your credit, you certainly won't regret it.

Just gets better a better

This is my second favourite series. I love the main characters and the fact that they are fallible and making occasional mistakes that add to their realism. Only Tufo trumps this wonderful group of misfits. I can't wait to start the next one,and am fascinated to see where and how the boy and Gregory fit into the puzzle. Well done Mr Haywood,keep writing please. Also, Mr Jameson is nothing short of astounding.

A Very Interesting and Different Experience

I found this story quite unique. I thought the narration was wonderfully done and the story was perfectly paced. Some may say the back and forward between time periods was difficult but for me it gave the information just when it was needed and in fact added to the story. Well done Mr Kahle, I look forward to a sequel.

Totally ruined by narrator

I really dislike giving bad reviews. I'd rather say nothing than say something about anothers performance,but in this case the narration made it almost impossible to finish the book. It was like listening to a robot, totally monotone and read rather than performed. I'm not really in to apocalyptic books having too much romance either but in this case it was very much a part of the story. I won't be buying further books. I just couldn't put up with that flat voice again. It annoyed me so much I may return it, because I skipped so much of it.

A solid story

I'm enjoying this series. Two things annoy me though, the first is that after all this time the main characters are still such lousy shots. The second is for the narrator. Please Mr Story , find out the correct pronunciation of foliage. It has become a grinding annoyance in an otherwise good performance.

A bit of fum with some wonderful scary voices

The narrator was what made this story fun to listen to. He nailed it! Deep and meaningful it was not,but a fun ride it certainly was. Well done!
