Historia
August Williams, a World War III veteran, is recruited by the government to test the new Uberman Device, which allows access to memories in a vivid, dreamlike state. But with a warning from a mysterious Man in Gray, August is unsure of who to trust. Told from the perspective of a U.S. Senator, The Testimony of Calvin Lewis blends together a political conspiracy, science fiction, and Christian philosophy. The story draws heavily upon works like C.S. Lewis’ Abolition of Man and Augustine’s Confessions, probing humanity's restless search for objective Truth. Soon to be published as a novel, ...

A good first work, bearing similarities to C S Lewis's final work in his Ransom Trilogy, That Hideous Strength. Besides drawing on the Confessions and the Abolition of Man, this book also draws on Plato's Republic and on Classical Liberalism. In some cases, such as August becoming a man without a chest, the writing might be difficult for those not familiar with the source material, but otherwise this presents something important that has been lost from Lewis's practice of Apologetics makes: the need for imagery in making one's case.

Historia
A dangerous and revolutionary philosophy is responsible for the street fires in America. It fuels the actions of Black Lives Matter and Antifa. It invades curricula in public schools and in our military. It is in our churches. You have heard the phrase “white privilege,” the need for “safe spaces” on campuses, and perhaps the tongue-twister “intersectionality.” Behind all of these is an ideology called critical theory, which is a form of cultural Marxism that divides society into the oppressed and the oppressors.

Dr. Groothius's latest book, in a tradition going back to Augustine's The City of God, takes accusations raised against America and Christianity, answers them, and turns to an appeal for a richer vision of America as a nation and a fuller realization of Christianity. It is not just an argument demonstrating that CRT is bad philosophy, it is instead a warm-hearted plea for Christ and America as a nation under God.

Historia
The culture of “safety” and its intolerance of opposing viewpoints has left many young people anxious and unprepared for adult life. Lukianoff and Haidt offer a comprehensive set of reforms that will strengthen young people and institutions, allowing us all to reap the benefits of diversity, including viewpoint diversity. This is a book for anyone who is confused by what’s happening on college campuses today, or has children, or is concerned about the growing inability of Americans to live and work and cooperate across party lines.

Psychologist who think they are moral philosophers
Revisado: 07-29-22
The points on antifragility seem sound. but they are ill-equiped for much the moral dimensions of the discussion. Using psychology as they do in moral discussions is an example of an is/ought fallacy, and they treat Rawls as if he were not a Kantian.

Historia
Its messaging can seem cryptic, even nonsensical, yet for tens of thousands of people, it explains everything: What is QAnon, where did it come from, and is the Capitol insurgency a sign of where it’s going next? Mike Rothschild, a journalist specializing in conspiracy theories, has been collecting their stories for years, and through interviews with QAnon converts, apostates, and victims, as well as psychologists, sociologists, and academics, he is uniquely equipped to explain the movement and its followers.

physician heal thyself
Revisado: 06-04-22
The writer is uncritical of his own biases, which undermines what otherwise is useful. He tends to accept some democratic talking points about Biden and Hillary, and doesn't note that mainstream news networks perpetuation of hoaxes, such as Russia gate, has undermined their credibility and this makes something like Q appear more credible as a result.
