Historia
Protagonist Kris Kelvin arrives at a scientific research station hovering above the surface of Solaris where research has been ongoing for years on the strange ocean life form. When Kris and his colleagues become more aggressive in trying to force contact with Solaris, the ocean's response is to experiment with the researchers' minds by confronting them with their most painful and repressed thoughts and memories through the materialization of complex human constructs.

Historia
In a seamless meshing of exhaustive research, brilliant synthesis and narrative élan, Simon Sebag Montefiore chronicles the life and lives of Stalin’s court from the time of his acclamation as “leader” in 1929, five years after Lenin’s death, until his own death in 1953 at the age of 73. Through the lens of personality - Stalin’s as well as those of his most notorious henchmen, Molotov, Beria and Yezhov among them - the author sheds new light on the oligarchy that attempted to create a new world by exterminating the old.

Historia
For all of neuroscience's advances, we've made little progress on its biggest question: How do simple cells in the brain create intelligence? Jeff Hawkins and his team discovered that the brain uses map-like structures to build a model of the world - not just one model, but hundreds of thousands of models of everything we know. This discovery allows Hawkins to answer important questions about how we perceive the world, why we have a sense of self, and the origin of high-level thought.

Historia
This classic expose of the Fed has become one of the best-selling books in its category of all time. Where does money come from? Where does it go? Who makes it? The money magician's secrets are unveiled. Here is a close look at their mirrors and smoke machines, the pulleys, cogs, and wheels that create the grand illusion called money. A boring subject? Just wait. You'll be hooked in five minutes. It reads like a detective story - which it really is, but it's all true.

Perhaps the best audio book I've listened to
Revisado: 12-17-13
I've been a subscriber of Audible for a couple of years. I enjoyed this audio book immensely. It is engrossing, insightful, and well read. This isn't just a dry history of a successful start-up, it's more of a melodrama. You'll even find out where that image of the whale being suspended in the air by a flock of birds came from. I listened to this audio book rollerblading around Zurich airport. It gave me the motivation to brave the early winter air.

Boring as Hell
Revisado: 05-30-10
Taking a bunch of existing ideas and aggregating them under a new term 'Pull' is lame. I wasted a lot of time hoping some modicum of new knowledge would be heard. Unfortunately it never was.
