Historia
Born into eight very different families, the upbringing and fortunes of Queen Victoria's grandsons varied widely. Some died in childhood, some were killed in action, and others lived to see grandchildren of their own. There were heroes and villains, valiant soldiers and dissipated youths, but their lives were interconnected through the tiny Queen for whom their welfare and happiness was a constant preoccupation.

Very good & informative overall
Revisado: 03-20-25
I enjoyed everything with the exception of the narrator’s attempt to effect an accent when direct quoting - it was very, very grating. Learning about other grandsons of Queen Victoria (sans the obvious-George V & the Kaiser) was interesting & quite fun.

More fiction tha history, IMO.
Revisado: 10-21-24
I wanted to learn about Charlotte’s life, not the author’s fixation on her skin tone and the alleged poor treatment at the hands of G3 in the beginning of the marriage. Just MO.

Historia
Philippa Langley reveals the findings of a remarkable new research initiative: ‘The Missing Princes Project'. In the summer of 1483, Edward V (aged 12) and his brother Richard Duke of York (aged 9), disappeared from the Tower of London. For over 500 years, history has judged that they were murdered on the orders of their uncle Richard III. Following years of intensive research in UK, American and European archives, astonishing new archival discoveries have been uncovered that change what we know about the fate of the Princes in the Tower.

Interesting historical dectectvibe inquiry

How does the illegitimate Cecily Neville, daughter of Joan Beaufort, give legitimacy to her children? Didn’t know an illegitimate granddaughter of John of Guant can pass this on- very interesting.

Historia
Amber Glass has spent her entire adult life putting as much distance as possible between her and her hometown of Baltimore, where she fears she will forever be known as “Prom Mom”—the girl who allegedly killed her baby on the night of the prom after her date, Joe Simpson, abandoned her to pursue the girl he really liked. But when circumstances bring Amber back to the city, she realizes she can have a second chance—as long as she stays away from Joe, now a successful commercial real estate developer, married to a plastic surgeon, Meredith, to whom he is devoted.

Great.... except for the politics
Revisado: 07-28-23
Excellent potential, I was pulled in from the first chapter (very unusual for me), and I was excited for a new novel by this author. The insertion of the author's politics were cringe- I wished she had just issued a piece on her political agenda instead of forcing it in this medium. If you want a read regarding equity & wokeness, you will love this. I am perfectly fine with the views of the author, I just would have not preferred them forced in a fiction novel, to which I was looking forward, Great story ruined by the author's agenda. The storyline was quite intriguing, as was the character development.

I adore Kate Morton, but….
Revisado: 06-22-23
I thought this theme was a book of hers I read before- I literally kept checking the publication date.
I sorted it out by Ch. 22, so a bit disappointed. Not as good as her former amazing works.

Transparent
Revisado: 08-28-22
I am all for Gothic but so far this is extraordinarily transparent; we have to believe this physician cannot sort this out in the first half of the book? Love, love Victoria Holt & Phyllis Whitney, but this does not remotely compare. I had high hopes (no pun intended).

Historia
For the handful of scattered Jedi, survival is imperative if the light side of the Force is to be protected and the galaxy somehow, someday reclaimed. Yet more important still is the well-being of the twin infants, Leia and Luke Skywalker, the children of Anakin and his doomed bride, Padme Amidala. Separated after Padme's death, they must be made safe at all costs, lest the hope they represent for the future be turned to horror by the new Sith regime, and the unspeakable power of the dark side.

I like the special effects sounds. Many audiobooks lack sound effects. So this was way more awesome thanks to added sound effects.
