Historia
Marion Zimmer Bradley was a best-selling science fiction author and a feminist icon. She was also a monster. The Last Closet: The Dark Side of Avalon is a brutal tale of a harrowing childhood. It is the true story of predatory adults preying on the innocence of children without shame, guilt, or remorse. The Last Closet is also an inspiring story of survival. It is the story of Moira Greyland, the only daughter of Marion Zimmer Bradley and convicted child molester Walter Breen, told in her own words.

Terrible Narration, not so great book...
Revisado: 03-31-19
I really struggled to make my way through the book. i feel terrible for what the author went through but so many parts came across as just so pretentious... and can we please be reminded just how talented the author is? Yes, recite one more sophomoric poem, and relate how you were so surprised to be considered a professional harp player when people are paying you for your performances....and then the gay bashing - she quotes from studies that were not scientific and from unreliable sources just to support her views - it makes her not credible. I am sorry she is so damaged but I can't excuse her intolerance. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with pedophilia and to make such a claim just shows how damaged she really is. I wish her well but cannot support her bigotry, regardless of its origin.

What an amazing story. I feel like I've been on a roller coaster. It almost doesn't seem real!

Historia
Casey's Unit is, as ever, full of troubled, disaffected pupils, and new arrival Leo is something of a conundrum. Thirteen-year-old Leo isn't a bad lad - in fact he's generally polite and helpful, but he's in danger of permanent exclusion for repeatedly absconding and unauthorised absences. Despite letters being sent home regularly, his mother never turns up for any appointments, and when the school calls home she always seems to have an excuse.

The narrator sounded so sanctimonious. It drove me nuts. It was painful to listen to.

Such a sad book. But punctuated with bad poems and really long pauses between chapters. Narration was great.

Historia
I interview my neighbors in our shockingly haunted town Wellesley, Massachusetts and I transcribe their tales for my blog Ghosts in the Burbs. Three women told me a horrific tale from their past and in doing so involved me in their horror. You may have heard part of this story before but I didn't tell you everything.... This is the complete story of Claire.

disappointing
Revisado: 11-13-18
What a lackluster ending. It felt clipped and totally unfinished - like just cut off, not like a good cliffhanger. and the story was good, as was the performance.
